I posted this on here a couple months ago and I got a hint as to where to go but I have done that with no results. First off I want to say I cannot pull codes, What happens I turn the key to the on position and my cooling fans turn on as well as the fuel pump and my black box is making a ticking noise, My RPM guage goes crazy with the engine not running but the key on. I have come to the conclusion that its dead I want it to be running again but im not so sure, the car turns over but dont start. My CEL light is on but is very dim. Any help would be appreciated I am trying to sell the car now $1000 and its yours, if someone wants to buy it from me let me know but if not try to help me get it running again.

Almost sounds like an ECU issue... check all body grounds around the battery...

the black clicking box... is the one above the radiator right?

Cooling fans on at key on, is a dead ECU IIRC...

First, double-check all your grounds. The dim CEL light is a dead giveaway that the ECU is not getting a good ground (or, it went destructo, but the ground is way more likely).

There is a wire that goes from the ECU connector to the strut tower, where it goes to a 1-wire connector, which goes to the negative terminal of the battery. You need to make SURE that this wire is WELL connected to the negative terminal. Wiggle the wire at the terminal. See if there are any strands that are broken. Make sure it's not broken between the terminal and the strut tower. If you're absolutely sure it's good, then check the ground strap that hooks up to the rear passenger bracket of the intake. it's about 1/4" wide.

If that's all good, and the ECU is still doing crazy things, I'd say you have yourself a fried ECU. Congratulations!
