My stock bottom end 3.2 with the old SS stage II cams put down 238 to the wheels and 207 TQ on a stock tune running a lil rich. The fact that you are making more TQ than HP tells me there is a problem because your motor should be making its power up top. The #s tell me your TQ curve is falling off big time. Be it knock, or some kind of restriction or just a tight motor. Something's not right.

I can assure you your 155lph pump is plenty big. I was running a 100 shot on top of my 250+ whp with out much issue with one. Although I'm not planning on making it a habit.

I would expect better numbers, even with the Magnaflow pipe.

I was expecting 210whp before I opened this... You going to redyno it if Doug makes you a pipe?

Wow...truth be told, I'm kinda disappointed. the torque's a bit high, but them ain't all that far from stock numbers.....

adding 15% driveline loss, you're lookin at 221hp and 239lb/ft of torque. T'would be interesting to see where the peaks are compared to a stock dyno chart, though.

Agreed, something is not right; that engine should make way more power then that IMO. My 93 mtx with its old 3.0L made 195hp with only a shoshop catback, UDP, and shoshop CAI. It didn't have the tq though, it was up a little over 190, but still that HC 3.3L should make more hp then that for sure. It does seem the y pipe would be a restriction since it is making pretty decent tq, but is lacking on the hp side. I still think both numbers should be higher for what he's got there though. I do believe thought that there is certainly some hp to be made by running higher octane fuel, with that kind of compression I would think a higher octane is "needed." When I run race fuel in my other toy shes up over 400 hp, but when I run regular 93 octane pump gas there is a pretty significant power loss due to the fact that I have to set the timing to around 8 degrees to get it to stop detonating. At least it's on a dyno and laying down some sort of power, that's more then I can say for my mtx build.

nvm this post, I am sure something was worked out by now, totally missed the 2nd and 3rd page and dates on the posts haha.

Thats what i would think but its not. Its quiet as can be. I've never ran only 87 through it. Its always been a wierd mixture of 93 and 89 and 87 I usually fill it up with about 1/4 tank of the old chit left in it. I have 90 octane in it right now with some octane booster and it runs fine. I'll start running the Mucho Expensivo 93octane in it from now on. I should have my Accel coil here soon then I'll put my 8.2 Thundervolts on it and see if she runs any better. I wish I could find a dyno local here in florida soo we can throw it back on afterwards to see if it made a difference.

Are you sure they didnt put the stock pistons back in the motor?

does the car sit a lot? make sure the secondaries are opening properly. its amazing what one little cracked line can do to a vaccum operated secondary setup.

that'd sure choke out your top end! comon guys, this isnt the boyscouts, you should know this stuff :)

I stopped caring about making lotsa power with this car. I drove it daily for a year and loved the extra torque but there is def a power drop off in the high revs. I think they dropped the stock 3.2L heads/cams on it and called it a day. My buddy is buying the car and will put some ported heads with the triflow cams and a 100shot. That should wake it up. Going to get a LS6/T56 S10 for a new daily driver.

Interesting story, but I just bought this car. I picked it up with a toast Spec stage 2 in it, and a broken quadrant for next to nothing. The guy traded it in at a Ford dealer west of me. I found it on craigslist for $1700. Me and -DVP- drove 120 miles, looked at it, and I decided I wasnt going to pay $1700 for it. I knew of the car, but forgot it had this motor in it. It has a Cincy SHO Cowl, Police grille, Tokicos, 17" wheels with new tires and a bunch of other little shit.

I'm going to look into the cams. With the way the car pulls, I believe it has ATX cams in it. It literally quits pulling at 6k. Also, with the FPS tune, if it's as lean as he says it was, I assume theres power to be made there. I'll be installing my AFX wideband in it and doing a few pulls. Then, I want to swap to a tweecer or quarterhorse for tuning.

Thoughts/suggestions?

I think It would be intresting to see that car on the dyno with just a fresh tune . Congrats on picking it up cheap .

I have mixed opinions about the TF's, but I havent seen them tuned yet. Scott's atx pulls hard like an mtx with those things.
