I plan on taking the block down this weekend if the stars align. basically, I love the car enough where I just don't want to **** around with any possibilities of motor issues by using the original mill.Did you tear down your block? Did you find out what was causing the low compression? Just wondering why you aren’t using the original block.
I basically parked the car in okay running condition with no clattering or slapping so I know it's nothing major aside from possibly a ring or a cracked piston.
wanting everything perfect for the car is the main reason for going with a fresh mill but I also have a 1941 61 series Cadillac stashed behind my shop that I was thinking this used motor might be perfect for. So, there is some background but ultimately I just don't want to have any compromises for the Taurus.
