Yeah you all should have this on before I do have to take mine to the shop put it on the list or in the trunk so when they get everything back together probably next month it should be installed still waiting for my engine to get done..

IMG 20201110 171731 Found this at the door when I got home.

Took me roughly an hour to put on.
Pretty good fit. Took a test run. Rear end gives much more feedback now. Single-sided road dips are now more pronounced.
The car actually feels much more secure and turns in with what feels to be a reduced amount of steering wheel turning to get around the corner. I'd have to take it to the track to tell for sure but this is pretty f****** amazing. It's not perfect but it's a really good step along the way for better handling.
I used the stiffest setting on the sway bar for my 2010 MKS. I give it three thumbs up.

Okay for further report on the new sway bar.

I tried some rougher streets and a few on ramps, plus a traffic circle. This thing likes to hang its tail out now. Turning much tighter as witnessed by the active headlights not turning in far enough in the corners due to steering wheel angle being less.
Very harsh ride in the rear, going over crappy roads. I'm going to give it a pass because it is a Lincoln and it's supposed to ride like a cloud, LOL.
I don't think going to the stiffest setting on the sway bar on a performance pack car would be a good idea. Might lead to far too much oversteer.
Man does this thing inspire confidence now though. Really shouldn't be throwing a big four-door sedan around like a sports car.
I think the softer setting might suffice with the Lincoln for daily driving. Not sure how the stiffer setting might effect the car at the track. Too stiff of a rear sway bar can cause unwanted, possibly snap oversteer at seven to eight tenths driving. I think that would be the case on a road course. But it sure is a hoot with it on the stiffer setting . Kidneys will never be the same because of the transmitted road harshness. I must be getting old.

Signed aching and amused.

I'm going to have see video to picture it. My stock sho had oversteer with factory tires. Once I got decent tires I definitely appreciated the grip.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that the stock tires on the 2010-12 SHO caused oversteer. Everything I've read about them said they understeered slightly. Mind you have never have driven or ridden in any SHO.
I'm also not sure what the dynamics of my MKS were like with the stock tires either. My car it already had fresh Continental extreme contact dsw's on it and a little over 60,000 MI. So the suspension is a little worn in.

That is interesting. My SHO has always had a bit of understeer and kinda lumbered into corners, even lowered and on a good tire, with the PP sport steering. I would welcome a bit of oversteer honestly. I think I am going to go with the Steeda Xsport sway bar. Not really worried too much about ride quality at this point.

In all actuality it could have been my style of driving, braking early and powering just at the apex. Who knows, I just remember thinking about how I missed the precision AWD of the audi I had owned before.

The continental tires made massive improvements which did indeed increase understeer. I actually preferred that handling in this particular platform, but once again that's probably because of the way I drive.

I am looking for a sway bar for the rear of my truck but they also have the too stiff reviews... So I'm trying to piece together a complete suspension that doesn't sacrifice too much comfort.

Well some people are like magic with their driving style. Meaning they can make a car do just about anything they want. Witness the Ford engineers take a ride in the sho videos.
IMHO I am a fair driver. I have friends who are quicker than me though. I tend towards the smooth side. But, I have a friend who is like magic behind the wheel. I've never ride with him without several sets of underwear readily available. He can take the most understeering POS car and fling it through corners with such abandon that you'd swear it was a rally car. So I don't doubt that you could get oversteer out of your SHO . It's just that I am surprised that you commented that your sho was overseering.

Yes good tires can change the handling balance of any car as well as tire pressure.
I'm kind of wondering if using softer shocks might tame the harshness of this new rear bar.

Well with the performance pack on your car you have a smaller diameter front bar. So I suspect this bar might work well for what you want out of your car.
Mind you I'm not trying to talk you into purchasing the white line unit. But I have ulterior motives. Lol. I'm curious as to how well the Steeda bar will work on the Taurus MKS platform. so please don't let me stop you from getting the Steedabar so I can find out without having to purchase it myself.

Okay I've tried the softer setting of the sway bar . eg the holes farthest from the "D" bushing.
The rides almost exactly the same as with the 22mm anti-roll bar. What I am noticing is there's a lot more angular displacement of the end links with the inner bar holes. I'm kind of suspecting that the angular displacement is placing a thrust load on the sway bar. Meaning it's trying to push against the sway bar mount, as opposed to the more vertical position in the outer hole which transfers the wheel movement into sway bar load.
I'm thinking this because the difference between using the inner and outer holes is dramatic degradation in ride quality that was demonstrated.
Anyone know of any dog legged sway bar links that might be available?

Okay I figured out what the problem was with the stiff setting on the sway bar.
Sway bar link angle was causing a side thrust into the sway bar pivot. Just had to shift the sway bar position on the slotted bushing holes. Bingo smooth ride hardly harsh at all and still handles very nicely.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone checked to see if parts from the XSport will fit? Reason I ask is, I just checked Tasca Parts and the SHO has the same part number as the XSport as far as rear sway bar goes. I have an entire rear suspensin setup from Steeda to include Sway Bar, Toe Links and Trailing arms. I also have H&R springd and Bilstein B6 suspension.

I know the XSport has a recall for breaking toe links so that is what got me to pull the trigger on the upgraded Steeda parts. But they look like it will also transfer over to the SHO...just FYI
