You need a PM from each and every interested (potential) person in order for you to do a "how-to" write up?

Seems silly, and an unusual formality.

:swing:

Fine fine

I will write one up; I just feel that people who really want to know would go to the next step.

Me growing up in the past (not on forums) it was a waste of time for me to bring something out to the public helping people. Meaning that I put so much effort into helping people and I received nothing back, not even thanks. And this was not just one time, it was many of times.

Parts to buy to install the BOV
1) I went to O'Reilly Auto parts where the one bought a radiator hose with a part number of (21947 C1947 from MasterPro). I don’t know what cat this goes to but one end of the hose ID is 1 3/8 and the other end is 1 1/4.
*And about the radiator hose make sure one end is 1 3/8 and other 1 1/4. Because the first house I bough was just 1 1/4 and one end did not fit on to the car.*

2) Need 1 hose clamps at 3/4 to 1 3/4 and another one from 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 and 2 more at a smaller size for the 3/8 hose.

3) 2 different size hoses at a foot long, one is a 3/16 and the other is 3/8 size Inner Diameter.

4) A plastic Tee where two ends are 3/8 and the one end is 3/16 for the hoses

5) And some zip ties.

The parts that come with the BOV
1 BOV
1 C-clamp
1 O-ring
2 different size plastic tees (which I did not use)
1 Vacuum filter
3 supper small zip ties (which I did not use)
And 1 silver ****** shown in the photos.

The Manual will sho you how to place the BOV on the ****** with the O-ring and C-clamp with a tool I did not have.

And the Manual will shoe which way to place the vacuum filter on the 3/16 hose

Directions to install the BOV
1) First I had to take the BOV to a mechanic to place the C-clamp holding the silver ****** to the BOV

2) Take the “Engine Air Duct” off by pulling the metal clip up. This can be done with your bare hands.

3) When placing the radiator hose you will be only using about 1/4 of the whole hose. You will place the end that is 1 3/8 ID and size up where you would like the blow off valve to be setting at. Cut long to make sure you get the right length and if not you can cut more.

4) When the radiator hose is the right length place the BOV setting where you would like the other people to see it when you open the hood. Place the two clamps on the two ends. Be careful the plastic part coming off the air hose, the plastic part with the “Engine Air Duct” was on was not made for a hose to be clamped on. You really have to push up the hose on and slowly tighten the clamp.

5) You will connect the 3/16 hose to the BOV cutting to place the vacuum filter and the other 3/16 to continue to the plastic tee. Here you will use the zip ties to hold the 3/16 hose.

6) In my photos you will see to take off the 3/8 factory hose from the intake manifold place the factory hose to one end and cut off a small length of the bought 3/8 hose to connect the tee to the intake manifold and clamp on with the two smaller clamps.

7) And there you go it is done.:woo-hoo::sun: Please look at the photos I have places and if there are any questions:braincramp: please ask me.:lalala:

The positive about this you can go back to factory settings when needing to have engine work done, not giving a reason for Ford to void the warranty.

Within the first day me having this BOV placed in, I love to step on the pedal to hear the bov sound

And I am a person who is trying to save fuel by taking off slowly, but not now.:omgsho:

On a side note, how much in total would you estimate you spent on this mod, and what was your total time invested approximately??

$25 from O'Reilly
$60 on the BOV from e-bay

And the time waiting for the part from China, then having the courage to do it and driving to the auto store three times to find the right parts and a nice mechanic to place the C-clip, which took a wile

But me installing the part….less than 30 min

If you only spent $60 on an HKS bov then you got a fake.

Or maybe it was an older version is why so cheep

Doubtful. Used ones go $100-$125 usually. Even for the older silver ones. The newer black ones are worth even more. http://www.modernperformance.com/super-sequential-blow-valve-version-p-1953.html

Hks is now putting holographic logos and stamping them to show they are authentic. If anyone pays much less than $200 for a new one then it's probably a fake.

Also if there's room, try pointing it down or to the side to make it louder. Pointing up is just going to aim right at the sound deadener that lines the inside of the hood. That might muffle the noise.

Nice write up, also curious to hear it. Is it really as loud as a WRX?

The same as the cars that pull off from the stop sign right behind my house.

but the only difference the sound will only come when you let off the gas pedal at very high RPM's if you start off from 0mph and go to 60 at low RPM's how grandma drives, you will not hear it, only if you kick it and only once at the end, because of our SHO are automatics.

You really hear the pisssing sound when the sound bounces off the trees and bushes.

I will work on something by making video with me cheap video camera. I am always alone other than my wife who does not like fast cars at all.

Just purchased Greddy type-s blow off valve. I had this same 1 on my Mazdaspeed Protege in 03. It's bout as loud as they come. It's been discontinued cause the patent for the sound it makes is up. I was able to find a brand new 1 still for 250 shipped. YouTube this bov! I'm gona try it the way u installed yours for now til I have time to get hard pipes.

Ouch it sounds very loud! Please post video to see how it sounds on your SHO. Maybe it'll be less aggressive since automatic... thx

Hope it doesn't take as long to install the BOV as it did your exhaust Greg....

Please be sure to post up pics, as well as a vid when you get her done :swing:

Lol. It's like I'm only in a rush the day I order it. After that life kicks in. I have a box full of parts still! I was going to replace these rotors this week but I left them in Chicago. Ugh

That's the point. I want it loud! I want people to hear that and go, "that's a turbo car". So I'm doing some research now on how to close off all these plates every1 is talking about. I'll have the loudest 1 here. Promise u! I'm a ricer at heart

I hear you lol! I wanted the same effect without the noise with my twin turbo decals on the hood... At most red lights I hear people saying : «Check it has a twin turbo!» and many people ask questions or want to try against me... I like it a lot. And now with the exhaust, I have a loud noise too, so I understand what you want.
You will certainly be the loudest, hope you won't get tired of hearing whistling with high notes... Good luck and keep us posted!
Cheers!

Hey KGUPTON123456, Thanks for the write up, I have now let the "Dove Bird" out from under my hood and replaced it with a knock off HKS BOV, thanks for that radiator hose part number, that took all of the toughness out of the install! BTW, I used a little sand paper on the plastic lip where the old silencer clipped on...the hose kept slipping off.
