Blackwire.... where did you purchase??? Did the "T" come with it??? Not sure what benefit I would get, seeing as I am running a 3-bar sensor and see boost levels of over 20. EXPLAIN....... Would this help keep my boost levels higher through out the WOT runs????
Hey, I am running a 3- bar also with 160 tstat,93 octane tune, and CAI. But never seem to go over 17 pounds of boost. How are you running over 20? And does anyone know what the factory injectors can handle? I too have also been wondering about the engine air duct and weather or kit it's necessary. Please give me your insight!! Sorry to post in a reply, sorry to ask so many questions. I just want my SHO to represent MN the right way!:)

These cars do not make power to a certain PSI, and then shift gears to start anew. The EcoBoost cars are all controlled by torque management. In each and every gear there is a set TQ goal set in the logic of the tune. This means that the ECM could not care any less if you need 2#s to make X number of lb ft, or if it takes 20#s to make the same number.

If it is more power (VIA tuning and part addition) that you are after I would recommend our Thunderstorm Race Catted DP and Thunderstorm CatBack!

Sorry for not mentioning before. Thank you, I did know that actually. So then, you would need to re tune for more boost correct? My current tune is from unleashed tuning as Livernois does not support the sct x4 and u wasn't about to buy their tuner when I already have one.

I would not focus on the boost # btw. That is not indicative of actual power. That is just saying that there is a greater sign of restriction present, as boost is just a sign of restriction. You can become thermally inefficient by making more boost (meaning that you create exponentially more heat than power) and make LESS power than someone running a more efficient tune.

I see. Now that I was unaware of. Thank you! I am trying to make more power yes. Catless downpipe a will be the next addition. So they really add that much more power?

Downpipes on average add 15 to 20whp by themselves. The bigger gains come from a better power curve and being able to tune more aggressively.....ecoboost cars really love lower boost numbers but big timing. Especially on meth or an e85 mix.

Thank you!! I'll have to look into that. Everyone has been so nice about chatting and not making a guy feel bad for having questions so that's always nice. Seems I'll have to get a better tune to see any real power come out of this beast. The days of just slapping on parts and the car being faster are over lol

Well it's still putting parts on and being faster......tuning has always been just as,important as it is now.

I agree. I maybe just am still understanding this all with this car. It seems as everything boils down to the tune. When I read ecobrick bobs post it seemed as if he has not a lot done to his sho and to be at over 20 boost ( understanding that that is not always more power). Makes me scratch my head saying, why isn't mine like that? Lol
Other than downpipes I'm not sure what else to add to make her faster. I don't want meth to be the reason it's faster. I want that to be a "holy shit" add on. Not something that makes it.

Anything past 16/17 psi is only making more heat not more power on stock turbos.
And run an e85 mix. There is amazing success in e20 to e30 mixes.

Basically it let's you run big timing numbers. And e85 has natural cooling characteristics so you have that benefit as well

I am definitely looking into this. Stupid question here but I know loathing about e85. I assume you need a tune tk run that to its potential correct?

Yes, If you want max benefits you do ...you need to datalog the car as soon as you run e85 in it as well.....as the hpfp can have issues keeping pressure up. That's why you should start small with like 2 gallons of e85 to 17 of premium and go from there.

Gosh that's intimidating lol. But I get it. Gotta data log to see what's right as no two engines act the same right

That's basically it.....but that's also why you can't go past an e30 mix on stock fuel components.
If you're tuned already. And you have e85 available. I think you'd be impressed at what 2 gallons of e85 will do.

Nice. He did my current tune so that's cool that I can stay with him.
