im not really sure how you gap a cps but could this cause a no start (obviosly if it sliced off the sensor)....
What other things weren't you sure how to do when you did this swap?

I'd hate to be anywhere near you or your car when things start flying out of the engine compartment... :shakehead

At least the clutch and flywheel are in the right plane to prevent breeding...

Why are you going to hate, If you were my age, with no experience, and no help and to make the car drivable after a motor swap is a accomplishment. I busted my ass, and spent too much money on the motor. Why dont you go sit in your corner and stay out of my thread untill you have something useful to say. This was a big accoplishment for me and i feel pretty damn great about it, I drove the car and beat the snot out of it for 2 whole days without being sure about anything when i put it together. Dont be a *********. Im sorry that i like to learn hands on and did not come out of my mom knowing how to do a swap.

Only way to learn to work on these cars is to F up a few or sometimes many times. But at least he dove into the 3.2 swap himself . Give ol Sack a break, he should have if nothing else learned all kinds of new shit after getting all the kinks out.

lol, did you just tell Mr A to get fvcked?

ummmm yeah i did, I dont have to take crap from him, Why should he put me down after a accomplishment like that. He is trolling just like the hellaflush dude. He can ban me or whatever he wants to do, but based on what i have read he is on no grounds to ban me since i have not done anything wrong.

Lets act like adults here for a while.....

Zach, if you changed the crank sensor and did not intentionally gap it, it is now destroyed. The crank sensor has a magnet on it (on the bottom side), so it will attempt to attach itself to the shutter wheel on the crank sprocket. once you tighten it down like that, it will get destroyed when the crank turns over.

You need to push it down so it doesn't stick to the shutter wheel, and use the .030" feeler gauge / matchbook cover to get it set to the shutter wheel is centered in the gap of the crank sensor, so that it functions as it should.

You don't have to gap the sensor per se,just so long as the vein does not make contact you will be fine. It would be very possible if you did not check for clearance they could have made contact.
This usually happens during or shortly after first start up,so I'm not totally sold on a bad CPS.
I guess one of the tiny screws that hold the sensor on could have worked its way loose.
A dab of low strength locktite on the screws isn't a bad idea.

I'm not hating you fuсking *****, I was just busting your tiny little balls. :idiot:

But, if you want some hating... the simple fact of the matter is that everything you could possibly think to do one on of these cars has been written about -- in detail -- somewhere on this forum. Something as basic as installing a CPS has been covered probably more than any other subject. If you can't handle such a basic SHO-101 job as installing a crank sensor, what else did you screw up? What did you do, not do, or not do correctly that puts yourself and others at risk for injury?

Maybe if you spent a little more time READING instead of writing your incessant mindless drivel you'd actually learn something BEFORE doing instead of winging it, fuсking it up, and then begging for help and guidance AFTER the fact.

lol, did you just tell Mr A to get fvcked?
The word is fuсked. If you are going to use the F word, go for the gold!

:munch: I guess it's better than a death threat.
Ahh, the good 'ol days...

This. I stopped using a feeler gauge after the 3rd or 4th crank sensor I changed.

Well this not a year ago, if you were too look at the threads i have created in the past couple months compared to last year, the amount is very minimal. maybe 2 threads in a month iirc. The thing is is that i did search but i did not search for CPS. I searched for reasons i could have no spark because i knew that i had done replaced everything. When i could not figure it out i asked for opinions and ideas which was when i found out about the CPS not being gapped. Just because i didnt know how to gap a CPS does not mean i didnt know what i was doing when i was swapping in the new motor. You all will find out eventually im not as dumb as you guys take me to be, yes my spelling is not the greatest but I can do pretty much anything if i put my mind to it. :)

So after quite a few suggestions to check for 12v at the coil, was that done? Or are we to assume His Clusterfuckedness went right for the hard fix?
