Okay so I have a strange issue. The turn signal actually works fine. The windshield wipers are having an issue. The 'low' and 'high' setting work fine. The first 6 progressive settings leading up to those fixed points do not seem to be functioning properly. The wipers will go up once, then go partially back down but will not "wipe" again after the first time.

However, if the left turn signal is on these progressive settings work fine. They continue to work for a few seconds after the turn signal is off but then stop again. Looking through old posts the MFS and wiper governor were suggested but no results were posted for any of that.

Any thoughts here?

I recently took one apart to see why it wasn't working correctly. I didn't really notice any huge tolerances, but I did find that the factory dielectric grease was drying up on the copper contacts in there. That explained a turn signal issue that I had. I had wiper issues too, but I haven't taken a gander at anthing in the "arm" of the MFS yet to see what that's all about.

Thanks everyone- I'll see if we can get a MFS this weekend and change it out. I'll post results if it works...or I guess if it doesn't.

Not that I would dare to question the venerable Oldyak... but...

Checking Rockauto for the MFS=~$30 to $50 {motorcraft!}.

IIRC I bought mine {in stock} from Pep boys for about $40.00.

PS. Hinky MFS can contribute to a host of unusual behavior, switch the switch!

I think I'm going to be the FIRST to actually update with results a thread about this problem. Anyway just changed the MFS and I have wipers that work even when the turn signal isn't on!!! Yay!

Thanks again for the help ...you know...several months ago!
