Why is Unleashed tune less expensive than LME?

That's not really the point, the point is the pump and injectors need to flow more..no point in having a tuner if the fuel only gets you in the 12's.
I don't think the engine is so much of a limitation as the trans/drivetrain. The engine is capable of prodigious power, at a point though, it can no longer be put to the ground in stock form. As you yourself noted, that's where the development dollars really need to be focused. Might have been easier with pure FWD or RWD layout.

Its a great swap motor until you can't find enough fuel to support it. Or a control pack to run it.

Not true once again. We actually have built a 3.5L EcoBoost motor for a professional baja racer. He dropped it right in and has won every race that he has qualified for. As soon as we get clearance from Ford Motor Company we will release images and specs!

I don't know about showmethe$$$ but having a massive 4-door family sedan being capable of lining up with Camaro SS, Vette, Mustang, etc and being able to get the jump on them and stay in front for a good distance till their V8 power starts to reel me in has me grinning from ear to ear!!! The fact they "expect," to blow me away and I actually win the "sprint-race" and even on a slower "role-races," I get the jump and stay ahead for a good distance before the can even catch up is PRICELESS! My car w/ the mods shown in my signature is a beast and love it - it's plenty for me with this type of vehicle! If I want a serious 4-door drag/track monster I'll invest in an Audi RS7 and mod it with APR tune, exhaust, etc and get low 3's and high 10's! As for this very affordable performance sedan I am extremely happy with LME and my other mods for "this," car!

Hey OmaHahn, if you want a to make more power up top we actually have tested and proven that our Windstorm CAI makes 30hp more at the top end than the one that you are running right now!

LME - you have not tested vs MDesign's CAI! It's BRAND NEW, they just released this product about 3 weeks ago and I'm actually running their newest prototype, actually a small update to the current one.
Have you seen theirs? It's a straight tube direct from the fresh-air scoop right into the engine - NO air box, no bends, no obstructions, etc - actually it's as close to a ram-air system you can get from a CAI! The tube is carbon fiber wrapped inside with 3m Heat Shield! I guarantee and put any money that no one will be able to beat theirs! They have YouTube videos showing how they absolutely blew away other CAI systems. I LOVE LME, but this one product by MDesign is the best.

Livernois, how does your design differ from the Airaid system? I use the Airaid, and I notice it really lets in hot air. Does yours seal better? The design looks similar. I'm in the market for a different cai if it's better! My only concern with MDesign (while very nice looking) is the small filter which wouldn't seem to flow the air I need. Haven't heard too much about your windstorm intake from customers yet.

We had a car here with one on last week. Can't argue with the data!

OK, show me the video! Show me the print out. Like I said, LOVE LME! But it's simple physics! How can a typical box-type filter CAI system that makes the air make about 3-4 "turns," before it even enters the engine going to be better than a CAI system that takes fresh air right from the scoop straight into the engine through a carbon fiber tube wrapped with 3m Heat Shield??? There's no way!

The factory DI pump is the biggest issue with the current version of the 3.5EB. Mike (bpd) and I have talked about this cause I was curious, and wanted some info. The next gen 3.5EB with both DI and port injection, im sure will sovle the fuel issue. I'm been very pleased with LME has done with my car, I'm sure other tuners can make more power, but at what cost. I can drive my car daily, take on trips, take to the track and run 12's, and not worry about it one bit.

We have gone over the differences countless times already Justin, so I am going to bow out of that derailment again. The Windstorm unit does not share the same drawbacks as the Airaid system. The MDesign does choke at moderate to high RPM, just as the dyno graph shows.

LME - I guess we aren't on the same page, mostly my fault. I now realize you tested MDesign's 1st release which I can see might have minor limits but they're addressing this. PS. I don't have their 1st release! ;-) They have some news coming!

Your heat soak problem comes from the intake piping that hugs the motor IMO. Then the piping design itself is just bad.

At 2000 rpm brake launch I'm seeing 75% of what the rear can take at launch.

My Windstorm intake. Key thing needed is the piece of foam that fits over the provided blade for CAI. Curves in the hood liner just don't allow an air tight fit.

I was seeing up to 150 IAT Friday night, track temp was about 80.
Best run all night 13.19
Track surface was also bad, all these junk cars were leaking crap all night. Lots of sitting and waiting
