Why is Unleashed tune less expensive than LME?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a tuner for my '13 SHO.
I was set on LME but there are plenty great reviews on Unleashed.
After looking them up from what I can see Unleashed is $200 cheaper!?
Is this correct and does anybody know why there would be such a difference?

LME uses MyCal, Unleashed uses SCT. Probably a lot there too. I know I could of saved $200, but still went with LME. I felt more comfortable going with LME. It all comes down to personal decisions. When tuning this car, sometimes it doesn't pay to go cheap, but still your decision.

The $200 "more" is an investment on a tuning device that allows them to control more parameters than the other devices on the market.

This will net you as good as or better times than most other tuners at considerably less boost levels. Don't know how they do it, but they do!

Not sure how the tuning works for these cars, but on my foxbody mustang I use a quarterhorse and software on my laptop. What parameters are different between the 2 devices? All the device really needs to do is store and load tunes right ? The actual tune file should have all the same parameters no matter what device loads it I would think. Correct me if I am wrong..

Those parameters are of a proprietary nature....no details on them. Livernois has not made details available, and I can understand that.

Not saying the actual numbers the tuners are using, just the things that can be changed in the tune, like injector slopes, timing , that kind of stuff. I know they aren't going to share their secrets.

I hear ya. New technology is just so confusing, and these cars have alot of it.

Yeah I am sure these new cars are ridiculous... Because tuning my 93 mustang showed me how much stuff is going on while you are driving around.

LME told me they have unlocked like over 200 parameters - whereas the other tuners are no where close to this so they need your time & effort to datalog so they can create a tune for your car. Some people call LME a canned tune but it's not. I emailed them all of my mods and they created a tune for my car. It's works flawlessly for me and I love it!! If you plan to "drag race" your car and hundredths of second on your 1/4 time is important to you, then yes some datalogging can make a difference, but not worth the time for most of us street people. Just my $0.02 worth.

I agree with that ^^^. Nothing against Torrie or the other guys, it's just that Livernois has the ecobeast figured out.

Still waiting for the dataloggers to catch my 12.54 also. Meant in the friendliest have a beer and talk smack kinda way.

No, you better blow it away! Low 12's, baby! Rich got his 12.54 without meth on the SHO at Milan. Pick a good day at a good track. This is no time to skimp ;)

I'm still waiting for someone to catch "The Other Woman" dune buggy with her 12.16@ 116 mph. Now THAT'S real smack.

See I figured as so, but since he didn't mention anything about tune only or something along those lines I figured there was no one with a lower E.T. than that from Torrie. Oh well.

Love it!!!

This is the kind of smack talk we should be able to have without anyone taking it personally. It's all about the fun we have out there.

Cheers!

They are stronger than you think! It's all about maintenance and proper tuning. Some people have blown transmissions and ptu's without mods. A ton of people have pushed them extremely hard without any issues (I'm one of those people!) so far I've had zero issues and I've been romping on it hard with a lot more power than stock! The best part is it's running better now than ever!

So I ordered the Unleashed tune yesterday...
If there weren't SO many good reviews on this forum I would've went with LME. I'm assuming at this point in the 4th Gen if there was a bad tuner it would be mentioned often.
Now the waiting game begins!
I also ordered the 3Bar and new plugs...
Has the thermostat been a game changer to anyones notice?
