I have a question for all you car stereo experts. I'm new to this stereo thing so I'm not quite sure on how powerful an amp I should get for my subs. I've got 2 12" sony xs-1235. They are 800w max and 200w rms. Should I get a 2 channel or a mono. And also are any brands better then others. I'm just looking for something to sound good. Not competition quality or anything. Eventually I'm going to upgrade my interior speakers and with that I'm going to also get an amp for those. I would think I would need a 4 channel for those. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a kenwood excelon kac-x501f four channel amp that I would like to sell. I used it for Boston Acoustics speakers. It worked great but I now have the sho and sold all my other speakers so I have no use for it and need money for college. If anyone is interested, make an offer. Any offer will be accepted.

You can go with either a 2-channel or a mono but mono is best for your application. MTX makes very good amps. If you can find last years models you can get some very good deals. Kenwood and Alpine are both pretty good as well but will cost you. I have an Alpine 4channel 75watt max that is really good and only cost $180. Ive heard mix things about Rockford so I cant say. Pioneer is good for if you have budget but you cant get a lot of power. For you subs I would recomend at least a total of 400watts to get your bass. Make sure though that you get the Ohms right especially when bridging.

Rowley, I would be interested. Crutcfield lists at $600. (ouch) Currently a new one on ebay with no buyers, buy now for $375 w/warranty. Yours is used; how about $200?

srfdude,

I would really like to get $300 out of it. I also paid $600 for it about a year ago and it has not been abused. We can work on the price though as I need to sell it. You can email me at [email protected] or post back here. We will work something out.
