Seeing as last year we were the only ones from nc/va at the covention in Memphis, we were hoping for some more people to show this year. Anyone going or planning on it? We basically do the sho things, but do a lot of "vacationing" while we are at it. Usually we stay at a cheaper just as good hotel as well. Just looking for some insight on any plans.

yeah the hotel is like 725 for like 5 nights. and 65to register (each car) and then like 10 to show it and like 55 to race it. it does cost a bit. BBBUUUUTT like last year, we sayed at a differnet hotel that was only 45 a night instead of the 85 (where the convention is at) and it helped a bit on the cost. but i think since we just sold one of the shos we may stay at the host hotel and take both cars. that would rock.

I would love to attend the convention this year, but I would have to invest 5-6 days to attend the full event & my work only allows me one vacation during the summer months. That is already taken by my annual Hatteras Island, NC excursion. Next years convention is in Seattle, WA which I also would like to attend, but I once again don't have the time to drive 3400 miles round trip. So the Carlilse event is the next best thing. Let's try to get a NC/VA contingent to represent our area at the Ford Nationals. Chris & I are definitely going. Anyone else?

convention & meet stuff

That's the spirit. We just need to either bug or nag each other into some action.

The convention is tough because it requires a longer time commitment than some can afford. I am going to do this annual Chapel Hill 1-day meet because I know I can put aside the time, and it is a way to rustle up the local members of the SHO community -- you know who you are !

Anyway, keep plugging away.

Another regional idea for us is a meet at Virginia International Raceway near Danville (where I work). I think the mustang groups head up that way once a year.

its usually so quiet I didn't even think to check back until now !

hey John, if you work at VIR what are the chances of doing a SHO specific event there?

keep us posted on a Chapel Hill meet up

So Chris, how did the Sunday meeting with the Tidewater SHO Club go? I hope some people showed up, unlike some of our local events here. Did you get any pics? Hey Rubix, are you still going to Carlilse? Chris & I are leaving on Friday, 6/1. You're welcome to try to keep up with us, if you can! LOL!
