I only use a torque wrench for head bolts, cam cap bolts, rod bolts/nuts and main bolts/nuts.
I routinely use an impact for motor disassembly.
I would never use an impact for motor assembly save the crank bolt, accessories/bracketry, exhaust manifolds, etc.
Certainly using an impact to tighten an M6 fastener on the motor or on most of the car is not a good idea.
