It may be the tranny rebuild does accentuate the TC locking and unlocking more than the OEM set up. But the OEM setup had flimsy fins inside the TC. Rebuilds do not as they are fully brazed. OEM has only 1 out of 3 fins brazed IIRC.

Holy crap! I have been driving the car just over a year and didn't notice that! I thought I was a good driver in tune with his ride....

Makes sense. Just like new spark plugs and o2 sensors accentuate the rough idle and lack of accelaration caused by 3 out of 4 o2 sensors plugged in wrong, thinking new o2 sensors would fix the problem...!!!

OK. I want to "tune" it out.

Thread closed, haha!

Tune recommendations anyone?!

If you watch the tach you will see around a 300 rpm fluctuation. When I first put the rebuild TC in the guy test driving it said it felt like another shift. If you feather the throttle right you can feel it in third too so you get 6 rpm changes for the 4 shifts.

Yup, that's exactly how I noticed there was a problem. And like I said, it did not do that before. I never felt it, nor did I notice the tack rpm changes. But that;s neither here nor there. 300-400 rpm seems to be the range. Let's move forward and get this bug out of the car!

You may not have noticed because it is likely the old converter didn't lock up. The failed TCC lockup does usually set a code/light though.

There was a TCC code in there before the rebuild. Does that explain it then? No codes now.
