Okay. The rebuilt transmission, that I purchased, is to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. They never requested a core. I guess I’m going to have my friends look at the existing transmission on my SHO to see what is truly wrong with it. Once I know the issue is, I will have them rebuild it and then I WILL sell it. ‘99 SHO w/ overdrive.

I will be taking 4 solenoids to the transmission place so they can look at the transmission that's on the SHO at this time. Maybe if it's just those solenoids that need to be replaced, I will just take that rebuilt transmission up to our ranch and store it there until something really bad happens to the original transmission on the sedan. Now, just to find a damn transmission dipstick is almost impossible unless you find SHO's at salvage yards.

Well, THAT Transmission was a joke. It was damaged in route to the Transmission place. Also, it looks LIKE CRAP!!!!! Needless to say, my clients transmission shop denied the delivery of the transmission and sent it back. So, I will have 4 solenoids arrive at my old O'Reilly Store since they are just around the corner from the transmission shop.

YUCK ! ! !

2 things -
1st - I have taken apart my share of V8 SHO drivetrains. All original cars I ever pulled apart came with dull silver torque converters. Can't help but notice that the one in your pix is bright blue. Screaming it is a replacement Torque converter to me. That said - YEAH - that is likely an already once rebuilt transmission, too. Even more reason to send it back.

2nd - With the solenoids. It has been a long, long time since I messed with them, but I recall a split between the 96/97 and 98/99 transmissions for the impedance on those solenoids. Review the 1997 solenoids in your parts book and make sure they are a DIFFERENT part number than the ones you were offered for the '99.

I will have my mechanic take picks of everything that is on my SHO when they are working on it Monday.

Alright. If the transmission is good, as well as the solenoids, what do you think is wrong WITH the transmission in my '99 SHO? I'm not taking my SHO back in until I get all of the suspension and braking taken care of now.

I thought you threw in the new solenoids and the world was a happy place?

please explain your current transmission problems.
At times, the sedan shifts just fine. Other times, it has a slight kick when it shifts gears. At other times, is shifts very hard. It doesn't matter if I'm going slow, or fast.

Sounds like something in the valve body. I know you recently changed the fluid, which would be my first suggestion.

How many miles have you driven this critter since the fluid/filter?

Solenoids are fine. Transmission is fine. I'm not worried about it right now. I just had an 8pc Front Lower Control Arms Outer Tie Rods Sway Bar Links Suspension Kit done to it.

Next, I will be having the brakes taken care of:

After all of that is done, then I will take care of the transmission issue.

Also, if I did not mention it, a while back, a motor mount was replaced. The other day, all the OTHER MOUNTS were replaced. No hard shifting now, however, that issue does still exist. Once I get the brake pads and rotors replaced, I will get the transmission issue resolved.

Dang it. The transmission is back to shifting hard again. Also, it keeps stating low on coolant. So, I ordered a new brain for it today. Also, I will be replacing the radiator on it tomorrow.

Maybe this new brain, ECU, will correct things that are wrong, I hope.

Speaking of transmission difference between 96/97 and 98/99. The shift solenoids (3) have differents colors. Like blue for 96/97 and tan for 98/99 IIRC. (It could be the reverse its far in my memories. Except color, parts are the same and will fit but will work differently... Some mechanics made the error back in the days.

Thank you for letting us know. Where is what I have to help tune-up my '99. I will have someone do this in the near future.

It is nice not having those hard shifts though. I hope this will solve other issues with it? Not like there really is one.
