Well i went to try to start my car after pulling the pistons out and doing a hone and new rings and rod bearings. Then gaskets and built my own turbo pipes finally went to go start it and. Found 2 connectors i had left unplug one was closest to the firewall other waz by passanger strut . But i noticed on the fuel rail the thing that looks like the factory regulater is leaking. What is that part even called?

If it has the rubber vacuum line attached to it, it is the fuel pressure regulator. The other one next to it is a fuel pulse dampener; used to not only smooth out fuel pump pressure spikes, but to absorb some of the water hammer effects of fuel injectors closing.

Depending on how bad it is leaking, it might not be building up enough fuel pressure in the rail for the injectors to fire properly. The car will run without that part but you will need to plug that hole somehow.

Well they were routed right. Going to check the timing belt for ***** saturday. And if that isnt it its likely running like poo because the leak i guess. Its not really leaking that bad though.

Replace the regulator. If it's coming out of the regulator body itself, that's the problem. You need to give it gas to start because the pressure is bleeding off along with the gas leaking out.

You mean replace the Dampener not the regulator. The Dampener is leaking, not the regulator.

Well i checked the timing belt it was off marks when i ligned them up. So i linged it up again and go to start it. Dosent start it cranks but does that back fire noise out the intake. And sounds like the timing is off again because it sounds like it fires against it self like hard cranking then easy cranking then hard. Going to pull all the crap off again and see if the timing is off. If it is why would it keep jump? Im pushing the tensioner out as far out as it can go and tighten the nut on the tensioner to about 30ft lbs.

With all the taking the timing belt on and off, are you sure the crank sensor is still gapped correctly? Maybe it got bumped and it's not getting the correct signal from the tone ring.

I had a 94 that I bought with multiple wiring problems, and after I got everything straightened out, it took awhile for it to start correctly (it backfired out of the intake a few times). I rechecked everything, including all power to DIS and coils and signal from the crank sensor, and everything was right. It was just being a bugger.

I would also fix the fuel leak first as well, because like others have said, it may not be building enough fuel pressure for the injectors to fire correctly.

Went and bought a crank sensor and cam sensor. Going go install them tomorrow. And the fuel leak yes is a leak but its hardly anything at all that shoukdnt cause it to not start or back fire .

Alright its barley leaking like you know how the dampner is dented in at the top of it?it takes a good min to fill that little dent in.so obviouslt its not a huge leak.

And besides that it shouldnt be hard cranking because of a fuel leak. Like i said before it cranks smouth then like its firing against it self then smouth. So that is not from low fuel pressure .
