I am having the same problem with mine, as we speak. It first started when I would go from driving at cruise speeds to parking lot speeds. THe car would die when i let off the gas. And the problem has gotten worse over the last couple days. TO where it will bog down and die at highway speeds. But just like you say cycling the key brings it back to life as if every thing is good. This has been going on for a few days now, and it didn't throw a code untill i pulled into my driveway tonight.

Tomarrow I am borrowing a scan tool and hooking it up to monitor things as I drive. I suspect a temp sensor.

if you get code p1121

DH15 CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTC P1121: TP SENSOR AND MAF SENSOR RATIONALITY CHECK
Continuous Memory DTC P1121 indicates the TP sensor is inconsistent with the MAF sensor.

Note: Throttle Position Sensor A (TP-A) is the same as Throttle Position (TP) Sensor.

Possible causes:

Damaged TP sensor.
TP sensor not seated properly (almost completely detached from throttle body).
Air leak between MAF sensor and throttle body.
Attempt to start engine.

i got a new maf and new tps and its still doing it and it seems not to do it as bad as when its cold(the car) so im thinking coolant temp also but dont wanna waste anymore money on just throwing parts at it.. cuz so far i got about 200$ into parts and still no fix...

well i was doing some test with a volt meter on ohm's checking all the wires form sensor plugs to the pcm plug.. found that the wiring going from the mafs to the octain plug was open and none of the others going to the ect,tps were open so i wired a wire around to that hooked it all up took the car for like a 10mile ride no stalling haha this is great.. hope it last..

what is that octain plug for..
with the mafs not being hooked up and all the other sensor that go thru it being hooked up could this be my issue..

since swith the coils the car hasnt stalled yet.. and i put like ..... a good 20miles 10 to work 10 home from work.. and b4 that i swear it would have acted up sooner then that but were see im gonna keep driving it hoping its fixed but its not fixed cuz one of the coils has to be on its way of dieing i would think....... any input guys would be great

Hi,
When Your Car Is Acting Up Instead Of Cycling The Key Try Unplugging The Maf First Then The Tps See If This Helps.
But I Would Tend To Agree With You That You Could Have A Bad Pcm, I Almost Sounds The Same As When The Rev Limiter Is Hit At 4grand.
Just For ***** And Giggles You May Have An Ignition Switch That Is Bad. Never Seen It On A Ford But I Have Seen Gm Act This Way.

i had exactly the same symptoms. With no check engine lights. After reading this thread about the number 8 coil I tried switching number 7 and 8.

Problem solved. SO i ended up buying 1 new coil pack for number 8 and the car has been driving great since.
