I have heard discussion of having the cams welded, what does this entail, how much does it cost, and why is it necessary? I appreciate any information about this. Also does K&N make a stock style replacement filter for the V-8?

Thanks,
Bruticus

Do a search and go to v8sho.com to get some info and you will know everything you need. I also recall that v8sho.com has a vender list that does cam welds. You might can find one close to you in that list.

EDIT: Dangit Wuzzer, you beat me to it

Also, K&N does make an OE replacement style filter for the V8 SHO, mine came with one from the previous owner/s.

The K&N factory style filter is the same as any other taurus filter from 96 to 99. The intake black box is the same size on all this years and models.
