Plus street racing bad, mmmk?
yep..nitrous on a SHO and street racing bad? yep yep.

Don't feel bad if I pull next to you and pass you in front of everyone. he he he.
No really, street racing IS bad. I, and my family are strong believers in track racing only.
The only thing that I have done that is even close to street racing, was keeping a riced out v6 accord from passing me nono

Plus I wouldn't use the nitrous with out the Nittos on finger . And I'm not driving 300+ miles on them.

I've been to three of our runs on my Nittos DR and they still look good (and that includes driving from DFW to the runs.)

You might want to ride with someone on our run. We don't Sunday drive our cars. We all have FRS radios and communicate with each other when traffic is around....but other than that we zoom through the twisites.

If you're wanting to attend the run but you're not comfortable with speeding, then I would recommend that you park your SHO at da Oasis and find someone to ride with.

When I went on my first run back in April '02, I was still a little "wet behind the ears" with my SHO and I had a problem with the outright and deliberate speeding that we would be partaking in throughout the day. I tried to take my little "I don't wanna get caught by the police so I'm not gonna speed" stand by staying with the "cruising" group for the first part of the run, only to find out that I was the "cruising" group by the second leg of the journey. Don't get me wrong - I had an absolute blast the entire weekend I was in Austin and the run itself was great, great fun - I just wish I hadn't been so much of a prude about my speeding that day and had instead just mixed in with everyone on the run. I ended the day by bringing up the rear and had to book it in several spots just to keep up with everyone, all because I didn't want to get pulled over.

Guess the point I'm trying to make is that if you're not comfortable with excessive speeding, whether it be on the highway or on twisty country backroads, or if your SHO isn't up to par with driving at those speeds, then you'd be better off co-piloting with someone on the run or just skipping it altogether and meeting up with everyone at the restaurant afterwards. Take it from someone who's been there, done that. wink

I really wish that I could make this run myself, but I'm between jobs right now and am trying to watch the dinero pile. Hopefully by the time the Fall Run rolls around, I'll be able join in on the fun again and be sporting a new whiny, hairdryer-type sound from under the hood. You MTX guys had better look out if the latter scenario proves to be true. naughty

kinda hard to believe that a 16yr old is afraid to speed. and im sure that when the speed limit is 70, you do 68, right ? when i was 16, my foot was ALWAYS in the gas. maybe i was an abnormal child though....

rofl I never said anything about excessive acceleration, or road coursing through back roads! I just don't like speeding. My brother has had r e a l bad luck with speeding, BS 3-5 overs  So I like to play it safe. However, I have never been pulled over, I think its the cars "domestic" look :p

I'm not much of a speed demon either, but I'll still be leading the pack because you SHO boys are going to have a hard time keeping up with my little SVTF in thw twisties.

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

rofl rofl laugh_ti

OK, seriously, I'll most likely bring the SHO, since its welded and all, but even if I don't I'm not going to go crazy out there, a good friend of mine totaled his car because a deer ran out onto the road out there around this time last year.

rofl I like those go-karts, but I don't think they do that much better than the SHO :p

That and the SVT contour feel like they have more body roll, or is the SARC tricking me?

Osiris, does your SHO have a "www.shoforum.com" sticker on the rear window? I saw one that sounds like yours and that's how I found this haven ^^

I autocrossed my SHO last weekend and compared to my Focus, It was like driving a late '70's Ford Country Squire.

Really man, the SVTF can fargin' HANDLE.

Although, I really DID manage to beat a CSVT by about 1.4 secs in the SHO....

But if you ever want to see for yourself, come on down to SA, bring the SHO and I'll SHO ya. eek! thumb

Yep Erich, it sure does, that was my car you saw. Where did you see it, BTW?

Welcome! If you plan on going to this thing, maybe you, JC and I can caravan up there.

Speaking of the last autocross BTW, there was a really clean green GenII with a borla exhaust, the same Yokohama ES100's I just slapped on my Focus and some cool lookin' wheels there.

Is that anyone from here?

Looks like I might be joining the group too, however only as a passenger. I really hope it all works out, I've been missing my SHO brothern around the state.
Mostlikely I'll be heading back home saturday night so I will not be needing a hotel room.

Where do you go auto crossing? And do people laugh at you doing it in a land yacht? Also so you just do it on street tires?

btw, do you feel manly driving the pink SHO? I sure do driving my moms SVT contour with the unicorn and stuffed bear in the back window rofl
