The superchip does help if you get the right one. It improves shifts (faster) noticably and the performance is a little better but not as noticable.

The Superchip with the LBL1 Code will do 2 things..

1. Noticeably (sp) Improve the Shifting and firmness.

2. Cost you about 5hp and 9ft TQ

on a side note if you send it back because of the losses you will lose 5 times as much. Been there done that..

I just do not know where a Superchip has enhanced performance on these cars. Nearly 4 years of monitoring the V8 SHO community....chips suck in general on these cars. Can anyone really document some good stuff? Guess what I mean is what chip gives you a better 0 to 60? Which chip gives you better 60 to 140? Does that chip exist? Will put it on my next GENIII.

The FordChip I have definitely improved things. Much better shifting and at least a .2 in the quarter. Plus got rid of the EGR and SAI error code triggers.

The Apten chip sounds like it is as good or better with a higher level of customer service.

The FordChip and Apten chip are programed by people who are very familiar with Ford's OBD II and PCM coding. Something Diablo and Superchip apparently are not.

hey paul, can they write out sensors, or ignore them? things like the EGR, and crap like that? it's would be cool to get rid of all the extra stuff on the engine.

Depends on the sensor. I have the EGR valve removed on my '97. I still have all the rest of the system on it. Next time the intake comes off it will be removed as well.

I also have the SAI system codes written out. If I ever have the opportunity to remove this plumbing it will go too.
