Hello Everyone, I need some help here. I hear a clunking sound when hitting bumps at slow speeds in my 2013 Ford Taurus SHO. I have replaced the shocks, struts, front stabilizer links, rear stabilizer w/bushings. It is very noticeable at slow speed (approx. 30 mph), not so much at higher speeds. I have had 3 mechanics look at this, hence the shocks, etc.. This noise is driving me crazy. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? It almost sounds/feels like it is somehow "connected" to something under the floorboards. Any ideas/help is greatly appreciated.

Do any of those shops have a ChassisEar or know of another shop that does? Have you checked the anti-sway bar bushings? Have you checked under the trunk liner where the spare tire would live to make sure something isn't loose and/or rattling around back there? Also be sure to check under your front seats, in the center console, and in the glove box for loose items. Is there an alley between brick or masonry buildings that you could safely drive down with the windows open to see if it seems louder outside the car than inside?

Hello Rod,
I have never heard of a ChassisEar so I would have to do some asking around on that. The anti-sway bar bushings were replaced when I replaced the anti-sway bar. There is nothing loose or clunking around in the back (under the trunk liner or otherwise). There is nothing loose in the center console or under the front seats either. It sounds like it is mainly coming from the front end. It sounds like big "metal on metal", similar to what I would expect from the lower control arms, which were also recently replaced.

Here is a video that I shot going over small bumps in the road and the noise it is making. You may have to turn the volume up. You can see the bumps as I hit them and the noise it makes.

Control arm bushings and/or check the transmission/engine mounts, right side engine, left side transmission. Look for warn or loose subframe mounts
