I have a 2015 SHO, nick name Doris, with 6,500 miles. Mostly stored indoors. Found it in a long team storage apparently, forgotten during COVID19. with 900 miles in 2021. Had it inspected by two mechanics and one bump shop. My brother and I lifted it on his hoist, and everyone agreed it was brand new. The tire codes corresponded to new 2015 OEM tires full tread and still have the painted dots on the sides. Underside as clean as a whistle and interior still smells new. No interior ware looks like new leather and still does.
Evidently, purchased in New Hampshire by a company the scans cars for aftermarket parts, sold to a security company and moved here by truck to Novi, Michigan and forgotten in storage for several years. I was able to track it through Carfax. My take, someone was trying to keep it unused. I found it on a Friday, took my wife over on Saturday and made the deal on Sunday. They told me that Monday the phone was ringing off the hook for the car.
However, after a couple of years ownership it started making a rattle noise which seems to be a suspension noise. However not always. Strange, it doesn't always make noise. My Ford dealer, who has been servicing my four SHO's over the years threw it up on a hoist and several mechanics looked it over could not find the cause. Nice they did it on the spot at no cost but had no diagnostics. They want me to leave it for a week.
For high school graduation, my son got a like new low milage 2004 anniversary Mock One we found in Cleveland. Showroom new with some great performance upgrades like performance cats done by a performance group here in Plymouth started by the guy who was the lead Form engineer on the engine.
He was looking for some time, and I keep telling him wait for just the right one. i told him if you want it pay the asking price, we did. The point I'm making is don't haggle or you will be out, garb it when you can.
Since I buy all the cars at this dealer, they gave me 3% off. I grabbed it,
Any ideas on the noise?
