I expected a little more gloss but the pearl isn't bad

Looks good. I'm glad you did this as I've been trying to visualize the results for some time. I've also run across all chrome and black chrome done to these wheels but haven't seen them on a car.

Can I be honest?

I don't like it.

Without any more incorporation of that same blue elsewhere (in order to tie it in, to an overall theme) it sticks out like a sore thumb, and not in a good way.

Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of your transformations perhaps.....?

Although I understand those that employ the use of Plastidip, to me, it's a cheap mod.

It will reveal it's "cheapness" over time. If you like the look, I suggest getting them professionally painted/powder coated.

But as mentioned, try to tie it in with an overall theme.

Good luck in your continued mods!

I appreciate the honesty

I like the color and my goal was to match the Ford blue on the emblems (it's definitely off) but at the same time I wanted a color that would "lighten things up" being that the tints were so dark.

As for a theme... I am looking to do more, i just haven't figured out what yet. I'm stuck between doing the mirror caps and/or stripes. My challenge is, I want to avoid that "ricer" look. At the moment, I think that's exactly where I'm at . After doing the wheels, I realized I need to lower the car ASAP and paint the calipers. I also want to incorporate some of the things on the two FPV cars I posted previously. Although, I do think this blue would go great with those burnt tips I've previously posted also.

The plasti dip for me was a great choice because it is very cheap compared to powder coating right away for the exact reason you stated. If I had powder coated and didn't like it, that would have been 20 times the money down the drain (about $800 vs about $40 for 5 cans). Plus the fact that I put 7 coats total makes it extremely easy to remove and also significantly better quality than most plasti dip jobs.

Painting the pockets is also an option, looks really good on the 1 2011 I have seen done in Kona Blue. Powdercoating is another great way to go, if not PVD.

What did I do today... Called 5 dealerships looking for a HPFP.... I was told 4 times that my car only has "two in tank pumps, but no HPFP" even after running my vin... I just ended up giving them a part number... The 5th one knew what I was talking about... Who happens to be run by my buddy... Should have called him first SMH...

It never ceases to amaze me how little dealerships know about the products they sell / service / maintain.

I suppose an entire thread can be dedicated to that topic alone.

Cray cray as the kiddies say.

Catless LMS down pipes, titanium based heat wrap. More turbo sound, more responsive, more power up top...more perma grin (think enzyte spokes person)

Alright, what's your secret juice for keeping 'em spinners so clean, mrhighcaliber?
462f389e93fca4f80a0513a669e79c9c thru the intake at idle of a hot engine. 15second spray. Then shut the engine down. I've done 7 applications. In 3days. Bore scoped the intake and there's little deposits and what's there is very very soft. I'm wondering if the boosted airflow will erode away the remaining softened deposits.

Nice! Hopefully the improved airflow will help keep those deposits off (no plans for meth injection I assume). Any before/after pics from the borescope?

I wonder if seafoam works as good as that stuff. I know a lot of people swear by it.

Never used seafoam. But i know the Amsoil Power foam foams up similar to a foaming bathroom cleaner when its sprayed, so it clings to parts while it works.

I can't wait to do meth. Lol. Valves would be spotless after abt 1 day. Unfortunately Im saving to go to Hawaii in November and promised boss lady that my Downpipes and rear 13+ calipers would be the only mods for this year.

Will the afraid intake make much difference? Online advanced auto parts 20% OFF [50.00] plus my 20.00 in store coupons makes it tempting around 240.00.

There have been lots of talk about the airaid intake... I have one myself... the end summary is that it does not seal well around the hood so it pulls a lot of hot air from the engine bay...

People tend to have the best luck with the stock setup.. Livernois claims theirs is better than stock...but its a lot like the airaid.. theirs apparently seals better to the hood.. which you can do yourself with the airaid if you are so inclined.. lots of posts on that too..

Course I did read also that someone picked up addition HP somewhere in the power band.. although not at peak..there was no dyno sheets to back it up though...

Better to save the money and put it towards a tune... exhaust... etc... me thinks

A tune is the #1 first mod in my opinion. It's definitely the BEST bang for your buck, and I feel the k&n panel filter is more cost effective than a full intake. Granted it may not give the most CFM but it isn't that far off, it will however keep more of the hot air out.

So how does the MDesign stack up against air raid then if the air raid has sealing issues against the hood?
