Absolutely, after seeing how little came out, I figured I could just flush it a little at a time. Honestly, aside from getting the plug back in, it wasn't bad.

I'm nervous about tapping a drain plug. I've no idea what the inside looks like. Where to drill, etc. Lots of ways that could go wrong.
Yes it was a scary thing to drill a hole in a critical case of fluid but it really was not a big deal at all. I just did it a few weeks ago. And like you said, getting the plug back in was still really the hardest part. You do have to remove at least the front turbo downpipe.

I went to the track for the first time this year, ran a 12.92. It was so damn crowded that I only got to run 3 times.

Get that sixty down as you are a 12.5 car.

Best sixty for me is a 1.77. Stock everything, with Conti's. 26 psi in the front, 40 in the rear. Advance Trac off, around the water box.

I definitely feel like I did not launch perfectly at all. Plus with the long waits, our damn intercoolers heat soak just sitting turned off.

New shoes! Enkei 20x8.5 +40mm offset with 255/45/20 Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06.

Got the 4 wheels and Blizzak tires for $350, got the Conti’s installed for $900.

Had them mount and balance the Blizzaks onto the stock flower wheels for future winter driving.

Looks good! How did you get the conti’s so cheep?

VA Tire in Gainesville VA readjusted their prices to be competitive online... when they told the per tire price ($192) I asked them to double check the sizing.. but it was what it was.

This combo shaves 8.15lbs per corner in rotating weight which is significant PLUS over a half inch of additional tread contact per tire. Should see a drastic improvement in my 1/4 mile times.

Today, I set about to flush the trans, only to ask myself...WTF? Where is the fill port for it? Now mind you, I've never owned an automatic car...but...I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be a spot not unlike to oil port, right in the engine bay. Had to Google that shit. The ford engineers put it under the air box! Well, after checking, the level is good, and its clear and pink. So, again, I'm like, I guess I'll leave it in. I'll keep an eye on it, and now I have a case of motor craft mercon lv, for when I DO need to change it. Easy peasy. But, then...I got bitten by the dreaded "while I'm at it" bug. Decided to get a look at this intercooler everyone is talking about.0502201449

Had oil gunned on the underside of the piping...uh, not good.

Also, dumb question...but the plastic thing on the upper left side of that pipe...what is that? The BOV? Made from plastic?!?

Pretty clean plenum...but...leaves in my engine bay!?! This is the evil of engine covers.

Down the deep dark hole my vacuum hose went. I got about 3 oz of some really nasty black stuff out, with the driver side of the car elevated. I don't have an air compressor, but one of these days, I'm going to have to get one...with proper suction, I think this method would be more effective.

And last, I painted my calipers. Red, of course. I used the kit that is painted on with a brush, but its better to just remove them and paint them with a rattle can. I will likely be swapping out for aluminum willwoods before I bother yanking the calipers off, though...0502201601a 0502201308 0502201431 0502201308a 0502201601b

Stick a fork in me, I'm done for a couple weeks, lol.

That is the noisemaker. It literally is supposed to enhance the engine sound in the cabin. It is known to leak boost. EPP has a nice set up to eliminate that.

While we’re on the subject. Our trans doesn’t have a serviceable filter so the ol’ drain and fill is still a good idea to do on a regular.
