So what did you do to your SHO today!?

Took off the gummy serpentine belt, sprayed and scrubbed the pulleys and front of the engine with gas, then purple power and water, via an engine cleaning gun. New gatorback belt, and then moved to the back of the engine. Non-ticking idler pulley put in from my parts stash.

Why did they put that weird metal tube between EGR and the block? To shield hoses from EGR tube heat? Took it off so I could blast the back of the block bone dry, and expect to discover that it is the oil pressure switch weeping oil.

Don't need an oxygen wrench on a G2. Climb on top of the engine, giving the back right of the intake a big bear hug, unplug, and break lose the sensor with a 22mm or 7/8" open wrench. Spin out by hand, while the right hand unscrews the wires to help.

Finally made the ovals match a little bit better and installed my upr catch can!

Took the car in to my shop and had them do an oil change, PTU, and full inspection (I do the full inspection usually every 8-12 months to make sure everything is kosher.)

Brakes were squealing a little so I had them check that out as well. Turns out that the front pads are pretty much shot and one side of a pad on the back right isn't even making contact with the rotor. Shop quoted me at 450/axle to have them swap out rotors and pads with "premium" grade (whatever that means.). They weren't able to do the PTU unless they removed my front axle which would run about $208 for the flush and labor.

The good news is that the car is otherwise very healthy. I haven't had any problems with it besides those pain in the ass brakes that screech when it's hot outside. I left with just an oil change (full synthetic, I'm not a mongoloid.). They waived the inspection fee because they couldn't get to the PTU which saved me $50. I've been using them for years so I have a pretty good reputation with them.

I finally got around to a fluid change, car has 10,500 miles on it. Oil was actually half way decent looking. Trans fluid looked good but found it must have been overfilled from the factory or someone added fluid for some reason at some point. PTU fluid was nasty smelling and black as night but not chunky, glad I changed it to redline lightweight shockproof! Pic of my ptu drain plug:

Well the weather was finally cooperative enough to at least get in a wash. After washing, I realized just how much paint correction I'm going to need, and wow. It's going to be a big job. Lots of little rust spots, don't know if you'll be able to see, but that's what the second pic is of. Lots of small surface scratches as well. I'll also need some touch up paint for several rock chips in the front end. Any good brand suggestions? I was just going to grab one of those paint pens, but not sure if it's good enough.

Took back the cheapo Wal-Mart polisher and grabbed the HF 6 inch as well as a 3" conversion kit for the small areas like the a pillars, etc.

Also any suggestions on product to renew the black trim pieces? Like around the fogs and super cowl area. As well as the lower valances. I've used back2black with some success on previous cars, but I'm open to better suggestions.

Best product for that rust/rail dust would be car pro iron x remover. I had a white sho prior to my current one and I lived by that stuff. Will need to be your first step prior to clay bar and polishing/ paint correcting

Blacked out the chrome on the doors, plan on doing the SHO emblems on the fenders in black/reflective for night driving.

Went to Zeigler for an extended warranty. Got bumper to bumper adding 3 yr taking it to 90k miles. I never planned on keeping this car past the original 3 yr warranty but I can't seem to let it go.
