This was a super cool day I had a private track day invite. Only 20 cars and full track services! the bad was the DA was 3300 when we got on the track and ended at 4000 da. Btw meth is .4 to .5 tenths difference

Me and you would be a dead nuts race. Whoever leaves first...

DA ......what was yours?
Just a guess as this ride will very on da if i have 0 da it would be 12.2 ish. I have run it all the way from 3300 to 4000 da as we don't get better until fall and it runs 12.5 to 12.7. Man I would love to have 0 da at 50 degrees

Attempting to change ptu fluid at 32k lots of oil on side of motor think it maybe ptu fluid coming out the vent although the ptu looks rather clean
Just finally found out that some people use really long extensions to remove the right rear down pipe so your not trying to torque off so close in the wheel well
Bought a 24v impact hopping that it may actually get 1800ilbs of force to take it off except I don't have impact rated tools to use on it.
But it's definitely not getting that much torque it wasn't able to break even the wheel lugs that I probably have torqued 100ilbs and after tightening with it was probably around 40 - 70ilbs

If its ptu oil youll be able to smell it for sure. If so the vent tube might be off. Its on the top of the unit. It just pops on. There is nothing securing it. My hands wouldnt fit but its worth a shot.

Unfortunately the extensions and universals are the only way to get access. You might find that you have to use a breaker bar to get them. I had air tools but still had to use a breaker bar on a couple. Just be careful not to pull a stud. On blaster helps.

Uhhhg so got the down pipe off don't know how you can do it without taking a stud off
Managed to unplug the front o2 sensor don't have a crows foot that will fit it or get a wrench in there
Can find the fill port or the vent

at the bottom center of the ptu is a 1/4 allen plug about 1/2 in dia. it faces the R side of the car just to the right of the r drive shaft. about 6" up from this is a heat shield you only have to loosen the lower bolt as it has a notch in it and you can just push the heat shield up. take a cheap spark plug 5/8 deep socket and cut a notch in it so you can use this to pull the temp sending unit out and be mind full of the wires and twist them evenly so you don't have to unplug it. you have to remove the #1 o2 sensor (you can buy a 7/8 O2 socket) to get it out but you do NOT have to pull any studs out of the turbo to get it out. make sure you add anti seize to the 02 and 3 nuts holding the pipe to the turbo.

I also had to modify my O2 sensor socket to be a little wider. I actually was able to get mine off with a wrench but I wouldn't advise that as it's playing with fire20190527 142446

My o2 sensor socket did nothing but strip out my primary o2s. Had to chisel mine in half to fit a deepwell socket on there. Great times.

Might not be the best approach to filling and draining the ptu, but I filled through the drain. Screwed a barbed brass fitting into the drain. Slipped my pump tube on there. Overfilled, unscrewed the fitting, and put the drain plug in. Just dont thread the fitting in all the way like I did. Your fingers will be quite lubed up. Also would help to have an extra set of hands.

Thanks yeah I see this is the best maybe only way to do it yourself I found the sensor I guess but can't figure out how to get the heat shield out of the way without removing the right axle

1/4 drive with wobble and a t30. Just loosen the lower bolt on the shield and then push the shield up and to the right and it will swivel on the end bold as the lower one has a notch cut in the shield to let is spin out of the way.

There are pictures of this in my write up for ptu service. And torque specs for everthing.

That's awesome and great time. I'm definitely going to have to try and get up there for a test and tune this summer. Even 4000DA is a whole lot better than the 8-9k in Denver.
