Snapped rod shifter!

Well i was having clutch problems the shifter felt detached and wouldn't let me go into gear.I get the car in the air to find out that the rod linkage snapped in half.

How this happend i really don't know but it's not the black one it's the one that runs parallel to the black one so if anybody has a parts car or has one laying around take a picture so i can confrim that it's the part.

which part snapped? The part that bolts to the tranny housing or the part that bolts to the gear selector shaft? did it snap off at the tranny or halfway down the rod?

It snapped half way down the rod right before one of the brackets down by the rear/middle of the car.I'm not sure if i'm explaining it correctly.

There are 2 rods about half the length of the car,one which goes inside a black box mounted in the back and one which runs with it..the one that runs with it is the one i snapped

You snapped the stabilizer rod? Was it rusty or something?

Yeah it was pretty damn rusted i'm still amazed to how it happend though lol

While shifting in to 3rd gear my dad managed to blow up a clutch and break a Rod shifter at the same time racing a Mustang GT.....in my car...while I was in Japan.

You should have heard how that conversation went.
