Just some information on the SHOrty Shifter.
The kit I sell is made up of the following parts:
1) 3.5"X3.5"X2.5" aluminum spacer block
2) steel ball end shifter rod
3) 4 longer machine screws
4) steel collar to attach the shifter handle after it is cut down

The steel-ball-end-shifter-rod must be welded to the original shifter after removing the plastic ball cast into the rod. The aluminum spacer will move the pivoting point up 2.5" higher on the shifter, and after shortening the shifter handle about the same amount (2.5"), the distance between the shifts will be greatly reduced .

You will have to enlarge the hole in the floorpan, along with the inner and lower shifter box mounting brackets in order to fit the aluminum shifter spacer block.

The shifter will now drop from the inside of your car along with the spacer block and the 4 longer metric screws included.

Now you can cut the shifter handle to your desired length, and attach the it back on the shifter with the steel collar provided. You can play with the rotation of the handle to move the shifter **** closer, and when it is at the desired angle, tighten the 4 set screws to hold the handle in place.

The shifter is in 1st gear. The measuring tape show the distance at 7 1/2" at the back end of the shift ****.

The shifter is now in 2nd gear, and the measuring tape is at 9 3/4" at the back end of the shifter handle.

Total motion is 2 1/4 inches. These shifts are short.
