Thanks Brian,

The Delrin bushing and the clevis pin will definitely tighten up the shifting mechanism. Even if you do not upgrade to either the SHOrty or SHOrt shifters you will still benefit from the upgrade.

biker889, are you refering to the Delrin bushing and the clevis pin? I have plenty of these.

I have 2 SHOrty Shifters left. All the SHOrty shifters were made from the leftover material which I purchsed for the last SHOrt Shifter group buy.

The materal investment to make the SHOrt Shifters is significant. So in order to make them, I need some commitment. I know that times are tough now, so I think that getting 20 people together will not be realistic.

I will not be able to keep the same price of the SHOrty Shifters, because of the amount of material that I need to buy to get a decent price on the aluminum. Once these 2 are sold, the cost of making them will go up a bit.

Anyway these last 2 are still @ $130.00 with free shipping.

I had offered them with free shipping, because I wanted to get them out there. I beleive that it is a good product for the price.

What don't you get? It's pretty straightforward, or at least it is when you have all the parts in front of you. Steel ball end extension goes on the bottom, and the top is cut to retain factory length (or to shorten it further).

The second picture in post #1 shows it pretty clearly.

I beleive that it is a good product for the price.

The basic fucntion of the SHOrty Shifter:

The aluminum block is a spacer. It raises the pivoting point of the shifter 2.5". once you place the shifter on top of the spacer block, the original plastic ball of the shifter will not reach the shifter box. You need to add an extension such as the steel ball end rod. This rod has to be welded to the lower part of the shifter rod after removing the plastic ball.

Now the shifter which is sitting on top of the the aluminum spacer, will place the shifter **** 2.5" higher than it was before. You need to cut 2.5" from the handle to bring it back to its original height. You can cut it a bit shorter if you want, but remember that you will have less leverage.

The enclosed bushing will allow you to put the cut handle back together.

The toughest part of the installation is cutting the inner and lower shifter box brackets. Cutting the floor pan is very easy.

The kits will probably be more popular due to their lower cost, instead of the full shifter.

But you still have time and material costs to worry about, so how many would have to be in on a short shifter kit before they were made?

I will start pricing the aluminum bar in the next couple of days. I normally buy a 24 ft bar to make the SHOrt Shifter under the group buy, but that is too much material.

When I buy shorter sections, the price doubles, so I need to look for a deal somewhere.

I will let you guys know as soon as I find something.

just got my shifter installed today and all I have to say is wow. These shifts are absurdly short. I do have trouble even finding neutral sometimes. However I will get used to it as time goes on. didn't have the best experience trying to drive home in traffic through philly with it on my way home from getting in installed either.

overall its a good kit, and even talked to Jose on the phone with a couple questions I had about it. Thanks for the product Jose.

:thankyou:

EDIT: forgot to add I got the bushing and pin installed as well and everything feels very firm and strong.

Hey Kevin, I just saw your post.

If there is interest in the SHOrt Shifter, we usually start a group buy with 20 people. Once all 20 people pay up, I deliver the shifters within 30 days.

I have not had many request for the SHOrt Shifter, but is there is an interest, I will gladly go into production.

I need to talk to the CNC shop that makes them for me, and have them give me an estimate.
