I finally got around to installing my SHOrty last night. I am VERY pleased with the results. Shifts are short and precise, and do not require too much extra effort.

A+, Jose. You make a great product. :salute:

Thanks frosho, it makes me happy that you are a satisfied customer. Did you also get the delrin bushing and the clevis pin?

the47guy, I still have several SHOrty Shifters left.

No, I didn't get the bushing and pin. I've been slowly working on making those myself as a little side project when I have some free time. I have access to a machine shop, so I figure I might as well use it... Plus, fabbing stuff is fun. :)

I purchased the bushing and SHOrty shifter from RkTmn and am VERY pleased with quality/performance and shipping of the parts. The cutting was somewhat tuff do to the position but This is A SHO were talking about. Everything is in a tuff position. Other then that its all straight foward.

My personal opinion, this is by far one of the best and affordable upgrades for the SHO that makes a night/day feel for the car. Great JOB JOSE!

It does make shifting a lot more fun.

Glad you are getting a kick out of it.

i have everything installed and these shifts are definately short! i got the bushing and pin as wel and it feels as if the shifter is direct in to the tranny. my only question is the shiter seems too far back in the boot cover area. i know the top part should curve back towards the back of the car but the bottom of the shifter piece should that slight angle be gong towards the back of the car? maybe its just the 92 console i have

presidentpoo,

I think that it may have to do where you cut the handle, and how much you cut out of it. You can rotate the top part of the handle to move it around away from you or closer.

Got pics?

I still have several SHOrty's left.

The steel ball end has to be welded to the shifter. You first have to remove the plastic ball from the shifter.

The ball end only has to be tack welded. Any muffler shop should be able to this in a couple of minutes. They should not charge you much for it.

I am selling these SHOrty Shifters for $130.00 shipped. When I run out of these, if I make some more, the price will probably go up a bit. I am still using some of the material left over from the last batch of SHOrt Shifters.

ok, just installed mine. shifts are crazy short and tight shifts, luv it! It has a rough feel though, going to build bushing & new pin. Maybe open it up again, clean up inside shifter box, where ball end is and figure on putting in some graphite powder to loosen it all up. mine sits a lot lower in the leather due to my muffler guy cutting of over 4 " or more.

needaQuaife,

If you cut 4 inches from the shifter handle, you have lost a lot of leverage. The shifts must extreemely short. I took off about 3" , and 1st to 2nd is less than 3".

Anyway, I have enough material to make 6 more SHOrty's. When I run out, the price of the next batch will go up a bit, since material has become more expensive. Also, I will start charging for shipping again.

So for now, the last 6 SHOrty's will still go for $130.00 shipped.

Anybody seen the last 2 episodes of "Savage Wild" on OUTDOOR CHANNEL? Great Mako sharks encounter.

yeah, I told my welder 3" and marked it, but he had a brain fart I guess. I let it slide because my plastic ball inside has cracks, so I plan on replacing it asap. I guess the steel ball end transmits more feedback than the plastic ball did. Definetly extreeemly short, feels like opening a can of paint with a stubby screwdriver.

Jose, was it you or someone else that was making ball and sockets that worked better with the SHOrt shifter?

I tried making some out o f Delrin several years ago, but that material did not work well with the steel ball end. I did not persue it any further.

I beleive that SHONUT has some.
