Oh what a search (that lasts more than 5 minutes) can turn up when you know the answer is out there.
I have a leak not from the water pump, but the gasket between the water pump and the down pipe that leads to the lower radiator hose. After a few hours of dissassembly I was trying to tighten the allen screw that secures this pipe. Well there are two of them...one in the front and one out of sight. Son of a ....... how the heck is that one supposed to be tightened, let alone replace the gasket?
I've done a few water pumps, but only the halves, I've never had the whole assembly off.
Well waddya know, after search of shoforum I found the link to showtimes (a sight I am rarely at anymore.... I found this http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...le=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=64
which shows that the whole assembly comes out with 3 bolts, which means I can replace the gasket after I remove the whole thing, not replace it with the pump on the car.
Search function and patience is the key.
