Just because I'm Canadian, doesn't mean I give blind alliance to the crappy products anyone in Canada might build or manufacture. That's about as stupid as stupid gets. I buy what's quality because that's what I need if I want my paycheck to keep my head above water. Those who think that a Ford product is better quality than a Hyundai or Kia, are not paying very close attention to what's going on in the automotive industry. A 1982 Hyundai Pony should not be your benchmark for that brand, anymore than a 1982 Ford Granada should. Kia and Hyundai are now approx 3 and 4th for CR's best fit and finish/quality of materials and several other categories....and has been for years. I'll also say that LG and Samsung appliances and TV's get the best reviews etc. My 75" Samsung is still going strong after 10 years of being on 18 hours a day EVERY day (my daughter is disabled and spends a lot of her day in front of that TV).
When I traded in my Lexus for the SHO, I did it with a lot of concern for future reliability. I have had many Ford's before and swore I'd never do it again. If it wasn't for the fact that the SHO is one of the few performance vehicles I could tow 4 down behind my moho, I would have got the Stinger. Factor in the 10 year warranty and it's a no brainer....and that's 3 years longer than the comment about the car lasting 7 years. FWIW, my brothers 2011 Elantra has NEVER been in the shop, nor has my niece's. Co-workers Tucson and another's Santa Fe as well. My SHO? well, so far so good. Other than CAC leaks in the first 9k miles, it's been great. I now have 13k miles and a great and lengthy warranty, that (unlike Hyundai or KIA), Ford did not have enough confidence to give me for free and charged me 1800 dollars for. I'm hoping for great things reliability-wise from my SHO, but if track records are any indicator (my previous F350 diesel, E450 V10 Van, 5.0 Ford Mustang, Ford Taurus etc), I'm suspecting that I may be disappointed. But HEY! It's got a "1" in the first digit of the vin, so there's that....
