Anyone gone head to head with the Kia yet? They are similar in power numbers but I've been seeing they run high 12's off the showroom floor based on reviews. I've seen a few around town but haven't been able to line up with one on the street or track. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are.

I was at Atco drag way a few weeks ago and there where 4 there.. Running 12.8's to 12.2's with a tune and e30..
I was trying to line up with one but couldn't make it happen.. They are faster out of the show room..

That's al well and good, but you have to remember the SHO is a completely different beast. It's by far the most comfortable, quickest, family friendly, safety minded, huge sedan, and affordable to most of us. Is it a pure racer like the stinger? No. But I can load up everyone, fill the trunk with suitcases, and still put a hurt on some of the competition lol.

Agreed, the SHO is a comfortable sleeper with classic styling, the stinger is aggressive looking.

Everything you just attributed to the SHO is what the Stinger is. With the emphasis on "is". The SHO is a "was", as it's dead again. For new car buyers, the SHO is a non-issue.

And even if the SHO was still around, if I were willing to accept an automatic (which I still wiil not), I would get the Stinger over the SHO. 500#s lighter matters a LOT to track folks like me.

Which is exactly my point. The SHO wasn't intended to be a track car only. It's a fast, comfortable, all wheel drive family sedan.

As far as the auto goes, if Ford cared enough about it, they could improve it immensely.

My 2019 GT PP with the A10 is awesome and pretty much walks away from more performance standards easily. And never misshifts. It can outrun my SHO quickly. But it's also 460 HP stock too.

But for a track car the Stinger is lighter and nimble and made by Kia. But like we say, to each there their own.

If you're a track guy why would you handicap yourself with a stick? Modern automatics beat manuals in every way.

I commend Kia the stinger is a great modern car and is 10 year in the rear of what the sho has done. We all know Ford could have done way more but we are all thankful Ford left SOOO much on the table for the aftermarket to pick up the slack for what could not be done for many other reasons. the sho has a ton of tech in it for the money you pay and has been a solid platform I know the Kia has a longer warranty but has had a $hitty track record for the long haul. Only time will tell and on to the next best of the stinger. We only hope my the ford be with us. and for the price point the sho is the best bang for the buck!

Except the pure joy of driving, the control, rowing through the gears. Some of us mean road course when we say track. 20 minute sessions playing bumper tag with friends can be more fun than just stomping the pedal for 14 seconds.
I daily a 5 speed around Chicago area.

That is exactly why I have a Focus ST. I live in the Phoenix Metro area and I can pretty much do anything with my ST.

Made by Kia....I could never own one, because it is a KIA. I don't care if it made 1000 HP. Best part about the SHO is it's VIN number that starts with a (1). Made in the USA by proud members of the UAW.

This line would have been cool maybe 15 years ago, I had a 13 optima SXL that was an amazing car, unfortunately I had my eye on a STI for a long time and traded into that because I wanted AWD and a manual. To this day I would say the KIA is probably in my top 3 best cars I've owned, tons of luxury and easy on the wallet. I realize an optima is not a stinger but from my experience, KIA is nothing to dismiss these days.
