So I have a nice amp (alpine MRD-M301) and a crappy sub (10" Sony CRAP). So anyway, as I was driving home from work tonight, It all went to heck. Here's how it went down:

Amp: "I'm soo much better than you"
Sub: "Nuh uh"
Amp: "Yuh Huh"
Sub: "Prove it!"
Amp: BAM!!!!
Sub: "..."
Me: "hey where'd my bass go"

5 minutes later....

Sub: "uhhhh"
Me: "Huh that was weird...well its back now"
Amp: "you better stay down!"
Sub: "or what?!"
Amp: BAM!...
Sub: "...."
Me: "you have got to be kidding me..."
Amp: "hey you can can up now...buddy...you ok?...Ahh crap..."

So basically my amp kicked the crap outa my sub and now my sub is running like an open circuit and getting nowhere. Im looking for a replacement. My amp came with a verification card showing it putting out 374.7 watts RMS going into 2 ohms. Im looking for another 10" to fit my current box, preferably with dual voice coils. Im leaning toward an infinity kappa perfect. Anyone have any recomendations?

I'm really happy with the quality of my polk momo, its not a 10in DVC, but it it's taking the power of my amp nicely. (JBL amp, 236 watts RMS @4ohms, not sure if it's 2ohm stable :frown: )

let us know what you decide on

PS!!! i loved the dialouge between the amp, sub, and yourself!!

Well Im eyeing one on ebay, NIB, for just over $100. I have bought both my HU and amp from ebay and it is worth it b/c of the price. This purchase won't be until I pay off my debt from buying a new clutch, 2 ball joints and a rear motor mount as well as a parking permit for my college anyway...so i gotta wait a while b4 I get my bass back :frown:

did u have the amp in 2 ohm setup because 175 watts isnt powerful for a sub, neither is 350W but its sony crap. look on ebay for an alpine type-r for cheap 100x better than sonys
