Rod Shifter Broken

I have a broken rod shifter the plastic ball in the middle of the shift handle is split in half and letting the shift handle twist all around. It is NOT the the ball at the end. So I need parts to fix it or a new handle/lever or another rod shifter or maybe some type of replacement for the shift handle/lever. I don't know if Hurst or anyone makes a replacement part. I thought I found or saw some place a long time ago that there was some body that made a short shift setup that would work. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Larry

Production of the Short Shifters is discontinued, but there are used shifters our there that can replace the broken part you have.
Hopefully someone here has what you need.

I finally drilled through both plastic parts and the steel rod and installed a 3/32" roll pin and it works fine, does not spin around anymore. We'll see how long it works.
