So as I get SHO educated I am reading about random topics and I am pretty up on this one now - but when should you change them? My car has meticulous records back to day one and they have not been done - 84K miles on it (no issues either).

I would go ahead and do them now while you still have time.

I bought my SHO with 130k on it and documentation that the bearings were changed at 125k. I now have 168k on it and I plan on replacing them again at around 200k (fall of 09 at the rate i drive). :salute:

They probably don't need to be changed, but it is not a difficult job and will most likely need to be done at some point for peace of mind. When they go... sometimes it's already too late.
