Hi,
New to the forum. Got a 93 3.2l and i spun a rod bearing. I guess rod bearings are a common issue with these engines from what i have been reading here. I guess 204,000 was just too much for them! I bought the car for a summer ride, i figured the tranny would go before the motor. LOL. I ordered a set of bearings for it and i am heading the the machinie shop after work to see what he says. I hate the thought of pulling the head to get the piston out. So my questions are:
Whats the chances of a bearing fixing the issue? There is some scoring on the crank, i havent looked at the rod yet...
Since the cap was stuck, i had to tap the bolts from the rod to the cap up through and they dislodged. Will retorquing the nuts reseat the bolts?
Anything else i should so while i am in there?
I really do not want to put the time or money into pulling the heads or crank, because then it becomes the question of where do i stop as far as rebuliding the whole engine, etc. Thanks in advance.
