Ok, so how do I polish the Intake? I hear about it all the time but I don't know how. Mine is clean but it's all oxidized. I don't want to paint it right now, just polish it up...

I use a washing machine motor with a cotton wheel and rubbing compound. It's the same way I used to polish Stainless steel golf driver heads.

Painting it would be easier.

Are you trying to polish it "in car"? If so, then a drill mounted polishing ball or wheel will work, but there will be a lot of cleanup needed when you are done...and you might want to mask off the rest of the engine compartment...it would be easier to remove the intake and bench polish it.

I would also remove them to polish them by buffing machine, then you can also clean up the insides. ....Might as well get them ported / EH'd if you are removing them...

Proceedure I have used

Go to the hardware store and buy a can of marine stripping compound (water soluable).

Paint this stuff onto the outside AND inside of the intake parts (snakes, plenums, cross over and TB side. Paint some on, allow it to work, brush/wash it off with toothbrush. This stuff will disolve the carbon and laquor deposits inside like they were water soluable, the stuff will flow out like snot!

Now get yerself one of these bad boys: Portable Pneumatic Mini Belt Sander!
And go after the extra aluminum in the accumulators and at the runner ends.

Then either paint or PC, reassemble!

Oh and when it comes to polishing just do the surfaces that will SHO, like the top and sides of the runners not the undersides that will never be seen!

SHO us how it comes out!

I would suggest having the intake glass beaded before polishing it. It'll make the process so much easier with better results.
