Proceedure I have used
Go to the hardware store and buy a can of marine stripping compound (water soluable).
Paint this stuff onto the outside AND inside of the intake parts (snakes, plenums, cross over and TB side. Paint some on, allow it to work, brush/wash it off with toothbrush. This stuff will disolve the carbon and laquor deposits inside like they were water soluable, the stuff will flow out like snot!
Now get yerself one of these bad boys: Portable Pneumatic Mini Belt Sander!
And go after the extra aluminum in the accumulators and at the runner ends.
Then either paint or PC, reassemble!
Oh and when it comes to polishing just do the surfaces that will SHO, like the top and sides of the runners not the undersides that will never be seen!
