Picked up an '89 SHO last month. Wasn't terrible condition, but definitely needed a bit of that TLC with some things :bonk:

So far I've done mostly interior work, replaced the clock, headrest clips, A-pillar trim, steering wheel and column trim, along with a bunch of other stuff. Got really lucky with a junkyard car of the same year that had absolutely everything intact - even the interior - plus I even managed to score the original rims, so now I'm gonna need to polish those.

It's got about 89k miles on it based on the carfax report and service records so I'm preparing to check the valves and likely will replace the belts and pump since that hasn't been done in a while.
Mechanically, I've already done all the filters, so air/oil/fuel. Already done a coolant flush (which looked terrible but at least the car never overheated lol), oil change, replaced the oil pressure sender, and power steering flush. I also got a replacement oil cooler seal from SHOSource but it didn't fit my oil cooler at all? It seemed too small - ended up having to RTV the original gasket so we'll see how long that works

Right now, I got two big issues because of the weather, water is getting through my sunroof on the passenger side, but I can't open the sunroof and I need to fix that urgently because I park outside. Whenever I press the button it just makes a whirring noise but nothing opens and I suspect the drains are blocked. Secondly, the wipers don't seem to work either, if I switch to LO or HI it doesn't move at all unless I push the button in. Normally that should turn on the washer pump but that doesn't work either. The pump itself is good, already bench tested it, so it seems like its just not getting power.

I had a similar issue and replaced the stalk, which fixed the problem. They got em on Rock Auto. Car looks good in black.
Thanks! I can't wait to see what it looks like when I polish the original rims and put those on!
