I put a clean drip pan on the floor under mine, that way I can see how much its dripping. It will get looked into more, when the weather warms up.

Replace the oil filter, and tighten it all the way.

Make sure when you put the new one on that you fill it and wipe some oil on the rubber seal.

You need to completely clean the area off with some cleaner. Could be the adaptor to block gasket or the oil cooler gasket. It's easier to see the leak with dirty oil in there.

Probably isn't the oil filter itself. My bet is the oil cooler O ring gasket which is not available. Fortunately you can get a Vitron O ring in this size 1/8" thick x 2.5 ID x 2.75 OD to fit.

The cooler comes off fairly easy but does have a large very tight nut that holds the works together. Can't remember the size. You can see it when the filter is off.

3000 miles? I try to change my oil in that time frame... Maybe your car is trying to tell you something.

I believe the oil cooler bolt is 30mm also. Be careful not to lose the little captive o-ring inside the heat exchanger if you remove the bolt from the unit. Since the large o-ring that resides between the cooler and the block does not see any rotation during install, like the oil filter one does, there is no need to put any oil on it prior to assembly.

Make sure the block mating surface is clean, which will be hard to do with oil draining out, just make sure there isn't any crusty junk on the flat surface. The original flat, captive, o-rings are the best to use but very hard to find.

Good luck.
