Nitrous Zex kit is it legal?

Hey iv read a lot of threads about the zex kit but I didn’t see anything saying if it was street legal or not I know anything is legal unless you get caught but I know that nos makes a street legal kit for the 5.0 mustang adjustable from 75-150 hp I think the thing that makes it legal is that it passes emissions tests so is the zex kit street legal? I’m from Jersey if that makes a difference because the nos kit is 50 state legal.

Nitrous isn't going to affect anything unless your spraying it. But, I've always heard/been told that its only illegal if the bottle is open.

Check your state V&T laws. They differ slightly. Some states its illegal to have teh bottle hooked up. Other states its illegal to have the bottle open.

yeah I know it only effects it when its being used, but some kits are street legal and I guess maybe dont make the emissions as high. Im not really sure there isnt a lot about them that I could find.

I've talked to cops about it in PA and they said it was ok to have. So i don't need any further convincing . I will probably be spraying this summer, hopefully being cammed, and have some bbb's and some nice runner and head porting.

im not sure so i cant say for sure but the 50 state legal system says 50 state legal emissions that lead me to believe that that was why but i guess the danger factor coul;d be it too haha and say maybe that fact, why do you need nitrous in a street car.

you cant have the bottle hooked up in MD but you can have it mounted and all that good stuff so nothing but a quick stop to connect it and your sprayin, but yeah dont get cought. im sure the fines a little crazy

yeah but you gota watch out tho.. some cops dont care som do.. my friend had a dump on his GST eclipse sounded like a 18wheeler. he got pulled over for tint(he asked the cop if his exh. was to loud cop said no its no problem) then he got pulled over for exhaust couple days later inspection ticket after market exhaust

I knew a guy that ran a 100 shot in his 500whp CRX for years. All the wiring and tubing in the engine was hidden and even the bottle was under the center console. Never got caught for it when he was driving on the streets.

every kit is legal, at least for the plumbing it is. you can have all the lines n everything hooked up. the difference is whether you have it on/hooked up at the time. just don't be a douche and have the crap in plain view (i once saw a guy with the bottle on his rear deck). and don't be stupid and leave everything in comes inspection time. nos just tells people their kit is 50 state legal to rope people who don't know any better into buying their kit instead of a competitors. the key is staying low profile and not attracting the attention of the cops or having something stand out during inspection time. most cops around here won't even bother someone for tint, nitro, stereos, etc. as long as you show them respect and don't pull something shady on the street to attract their attention.
