I got an old idler pulley bearing (thanks BIGSHOMIKE thumb ) and took it apart. I could not find it in my standard bearing books so I called NSK. The sales rep found the bearing and confirmed that is still being made, but could not give me much info since it not a standard bearing. An engineer is going to call me back with more info about it. The good news is it looks to me like it is 2 standard 6907 VV bearings made together. I think you could replace the old bearing with 2 of the 6907s and it would work fine. I getting 2 6907s sent to me to see it they will work. The 6907 size bearing is a standard size and should be available at any store that carries bearings. I will post any more relevant info after I speak with the engineer from NSK.

Any update on this? I had another idler pulley start crying today and used my last spare to replace it.

It would be nice to find a least-expensive bearing-only replacement option.

I just had to replace a proprietary bearing from my John Deere and NAPA had it. Took some time to look through the book but if you have the dimensions I would try them.

I manage a NAPA store, we don't have a bearing with the same dimensions. I have found a source for NSK bearings to fit the pulleys, but there a 3 different ones with the same external dimensions. The difference betwwen the three is the internal clearance between the balls and races (different versions for different applications). NSK can't tell which one would be best for the SHO pulley. The NSK base part number is BD20-15DWA.

there are like more than 2000 of those bearings in toronto or something but they are proprietary or whatever that means that only ford can buy em so they can put em on a pulley and sell em to us for 200 canadian so nsk will never sell em to us any time soon

I talked to an NSK bearing engineer, he said that it is not discontinued, and is a commonly used bearing in the automotive world, he said specifically that it was used commonly as an alternator bearing. He looked it up and it is in stock in many distrubution center nationwide. The current NSK P/N for it is 35BD219T12VVCG33 . The bearing is a double row version of a 6907VV bearing. I would assume you could use 2 6907VV bearings back to back and it would work just fine. You might have an easier time finding 6907VV bearings. The correct bearing measurements are: ID--35mm, OD--55mm, Thickness--20mm. A 6907 measurements are: ID--35mm, OD--55mm, Thickness--10mm.

Any idea where we can purchase these bearings??

These are for the accessory idlers, correct???

I also need on for my timing belt idler pulley, on my ATX; anyone have any luck w/ these???

All I can come up with is to get a used one in good condition to replace it???

Thanx,

Nice find on the bearing! That helps many of us. Is there a retail place to buy these? Can any NAPA order these?

Well BIGSHOMIKE found them at a heavy equipment parts store, I would also try NSK website. There should be an 800 number for customer service that could tell you a local vendor. Expect to pay around $30 for a single bearing though. They can be pricy by themselves. We may want to contact Mikey@Midwest SHO or Josh@SHONut to see if they would be interested in buying in quanity to get the price down.
