I make decals and such (hence the name) and I had some chrome vinyl in my stock. Figured I'd give touching up that awful peeled trim a go.

Here is the before:

Here is the after:

I probably should have continued doing the top corners so it would all match. But my back's sore, and I feel accomplished enough.

I'm gonna fix mine this summer...will remove my lights, sand down all the chrome as much as I can, primer and paint black ...possibly may try plasti dip 1st

Plastidip is the way to go man. Cheap easy and reliable. I've used it for many things

Post pics man. I plan on doing that large chrome piece on the trunk once it stops raining by me.

I used plasti dip on mine about two years ago. Didn't remove the lights from the car and it has held up fine, looks the same as when I put it on two years ago. If you've never used it, watch a couple videos so you can get an idea of how far to put the tape from the chrome. Most important thing is to make sure you cover all the paint between the part you are painting and the tape so that it all comes off easily when you peel the tape.

Pic below was from the same summer that I did it. I'll take a picture tomorrow so you can see what it looks like 2 years and 30 or so car washes later. It might be slightly faded compared to when I put it on, but otherwise looks flawless.

Ya, it definitely is an improvement over the peeling chrome. I think the key for the plasti dip is lots of coats. I probably did 10 or 11 on the tail lights. Spray it on, give it 10-15 minutes, then spray another coat. I was trying to use the entire can on just the tail lights, but ended up giving up after a couple hours of spraying it every 10 minutes.

Here's a picture of them from a couple minutes ago, not much different than the day I did them two years ago.

Works very well on the trunk chrome if anyone was wondering. It's been really rainy so sorry for the pic, but you get the idea

I looked for over a year for a SHO that color and never found one with the options and mileage I wanted. Probably one of my favorite colors....looks great.
