My car is at 70k miles. I've done almost no maintenance and zero upgrades to it. Tires and oil basically. Here is a list of what I'm planning but I would love input from you on anything additional I should consider doing. I have a bendpak 2-post lift in my garage so I'll be able to get at everything very easily when it's up there. My list includes... Change Fluid in the Transfer Case, Rear Diff, Transmission and Coolant System. Look at the BOV to be sure it isn't a problem. (Or should I replace it even if it's OK?) I also need to replace the mixer valve for the heater behind the glove box. I see no sign of problems with either the timing chain system or the water pump. I saw a YT video where the guy shows continuing problems with the crimp connectors on the hoses under the hood. I'll look those over too.

Anything else I should pay attention to at this point folks?

Check tie rods, link ends, and general suspension components for play. There are two BOV's. One on top and one behind the engine. Check for leaks around the turbo ect.

I have yet to find the procedure to check the BOVs. Would someone point me in the right direction please, or is it obvious when you remove the two screws and look at it? Do you have to pressurize the diaphragm and see if it leaks and make sure it moves the plunger? I don't believe there is a problem with them, but in my research I understand they are a common point of failure that needs to be checked. Maybe I'm wrong on that too! I've been wrong on my assessment of the SHO maintenance requirements a LOT. Yet, it has been good enough to me not to bite me yet. I'm trying to correct my abusive ways before it does.

Look for tears in the diaphragm.

I take that to mean you can see the diagram on the back side of the when you remove the body. Thanks!

I have gained MUCH respect to the folks who have changed the fluid in a non-pp transfer case without a lift. That can't be fun! I have pics of what my oil looked like after 70k and I'll post those later. Not as bad as I thought actually. It was at least still there in a liquid form, for the most part.

So today I have the engine oil and the TC oil changed. Now on to the rear diff...

Check the wheel wells around the plastic look for advanced rust.

Check the trailing arms in the rear. Check the noise maker for air leaks. Comes off the throttlebody. Flush alllllllll fluids... alllllll brake, coolant, it protects the water pump seals, get on redline and get your lwsp for ptu, get a gallon. Flush trans ission twice.

Ford oil filter is fine. Purolator Boss I have heard good things about been using Ford all along.

K&N drop in air filter is just fine.

So I drained the radiator from the valve drain that I found on the passenger side of the radiator. I only got a gallon of fluid out of it. Shouldn't there have been more?

To change the coolant I have now drained a gallon out and put a gallon of distilled water into the degas bottle twice. Then drained another gallon out (third time). Between drainings I brought the car up to temp to open the t-stat.
My question is... I can now only put one gallon of concentrated antifreeze (not 50/50) into the car because that's all the room there is. Is that enough? And I should be using the Yellow, not the orange at this point. Is that correct?
Just FYI, I live in south Texas so we don't see very cold weather here if that makes a difference in the mixture ratio. I'm more concerned with keeping my well hidden water pump happy.

I did some running around in the car today. A good distance with several stops. Despite my best efforts, I've apparently not managed to ***** anything. The car seems to actually roll smoother and easier. That may be just between my ears of course. No overheating problems. The heater still works. And the car seem to be a happy camper. I'm thinking the next round will be the brakes. But for now all it seems to be a Good SHO. LOL

THANK YOU!! to the folks that took the time to reply to my questions. I really do appreciate that guidance from the forum.
