Hey all , about to take on turbo replacement for the sho, figured i would read up on all i could just because i know its not an easy first time job. Got two new OEM from rock auto that include oil supply lines. Second one should be in tomorrow and have the next 4-5 days allotted to replace them. I plan on getting new coolant lines for them and pretty much anything else i can get my hands on ( gaskets , bolts , lines etc.) kinda planning on having to drill and tap heat shield bolts as that seems to be common issue , pull the passenger half axle and all that jazz. Hoping exhaust bolts and cats dont give to too much trouble . Anything i should watch out for or tips are welcome and appreciated!

welcome, I suggest though in Canada going to CHRA and talking to them on the phone about your turbo needs. stock replacement - or a gentle lowend quicker off the line, or in the end a fully modded car with as many bolt ons you want for a 11+ sec street monster its all here.

adding to my post, heat the bolts up before removing, torch if you can to running the engine then turning it off, then spraying with lubricant, then turning it back on, and heating it up, then spraying them again. they will back off. suggestion, there is a recent post in the gen 4 section about those replacement bolts. suggestion, buy them from local dealer, knowing return policy, and return after the project is completed and not needed, break any you have the replacement in hand.

turbo lines and banjo nolt replacements, and make sure all new oil screen filters. if not clean them out really well and keep any dirt from getting into the new lines and turbos.

Im in NW Florida , turbos in hand and got a little start on teardown yesterday, gunna hit it hard today. Front or driverside turbo is toast . Removed the cat and turbine had spit a small ring into the cat and turbine was in rough shape and barely hanging on wobbled about 3/16” when I gave it a wiggle.

What's your feedback on the back turbo?
It was in decent shape but oil screen was cruddy . As for removal and replacement it is a big pain but do-able . If i had a lift it would be quite a bit less terrible but i did it in my dirt driveway on a sheet of plywood with a harbor freight jack and jack stand haha . Also having to stop and start working around taking wife and kids to work and daylight etc. made it take a good bit longer but hours wise it wasn't too bad. Definitely dont wanna do it again any time soon. I did do the ptu fluid replacement since i lost most of it when i took the axle out and that was okay i just got the squeeze bag and like 5’ of hose then I just layed on the bag of fluid and used my body weight under my hips to pump it in and worked out good.
