So my turbos took a shit last night as oil residue is all over my bog’s and a burning oil smell, I was wondering which turbos would be the best to buy for daily use and maximum power. I’m interested in the livernoise 40.6mm but I don’t think I could justify the price with the fact CR has them for 1000$ cheaper, as well as the build your best own, their just not shipping rn due to tariffs, would the bully dog quick spool offer any good or are gearheads the best option? Sorry for the rambling just can’t seem to find many answers. And are there any good tutorials on removing the turbos and replacing them? Please help me out as I’m extremely new to cars in general and wanna learn through the SHO(promised myself to never take it to the mechanic shop)

Don't bother with CR. I am replacing my front turbo with a NAPA rebuilt one this weekend. I only got 2 years and about 10,000 miles on it. So far so good the back one is holding together.

Sorry for the delay. So the NAPA rebuilt one started blowing oil out of the cold side. So for 20 bucks more I bought a new one. One week later oil under the car. I can't win with this car. I pulled the front bumper off and changed the intercooler when I did the rebuilt turbo. While it was apart the turbo was very accessible.

And remember folks... the compressor upgrade is only HALF of the upgrade. GH turbos have larger compressor and Turbine wheels, that's why they cost more. They were set up to give enough power to overload the stock transmission if you push them hard enough but be as responsive as possible.

Did you clean or replace the turbo screens at the inlet?
I cleaned them. Oh and by the way the NAPA rebuilt turbo lasted a week. LOL Blowing oil. So I got to do the job again. Bought a new turbo for 20 bucks more. Don't know why they didn't tell me that. I prelubed it and all. I don't get it. I replaced my intercooler with a similar stock one. So when the front end was all apart the turbo was easy to get to.

A lot of folks don't even know there are screens in there and i've seen some very plugged ones come through the shop as well as customer pictures of them.
Matt, I've questioned even putting the screens back in. There are post about this 50/50 yes or no.
