No sign of the guy who took him. They had my grandpa very liquored up, but he just kept saying they were ******** and there wasn't anything he could do. The motorhome just smelled like beer - a lot of beer. He slept very well last night, but doesn't remember too much.

Thanks for all the support and a BIG thanks to the Chicago guys (Greg, Tony, Tom, Andy, Neno, Chris, etc.) who helped Adam and me out during this. I can't begin to explain how much of a relief it was to first find the motorhome and find it in good shape (not all messed up inside, everything was pretty orderly) and then a few hours later to find out my grandfather was found. He was found in Chinatown, a pretty far distance from where the motorhome was located.

We'll be selling the motorhome soon and getting a GPS device on his Jeep. I think he knows that he won't be driving distances anymore, but with him living in Crivitz and us down here, it's more difficult to help him out. He's staying wit my parents this week as we figure more out, but thanks again to everyone!

Yea, Chicago PD beating on people is a good thing sometimes.

When I was out with two of the officers, we stopped at a typical "homeless people" area under a bridge. They saw a young guy sit down so they tried getting his attention with the big spotlight and the sirens on the car - he didn't move. The officer driving said "he's playing dumb. That's okay, we'll just beat the **** out of him." And then he looks back at me and says "You didn't just hear that". But the guy eventually stood up and walked over so we could show a picture of my grandpa.

Hey...if we find him, can we strap him to the front of the motorhome and go offroading through dense brush??

Just my thoughts. Glad ya'll found him, Michelle. It's a huge sigh of relief.

Michelle... what did i tell you.. I KNEW in the my heart it was going to be okay. there have been many instances of people wandering away from nursing homes, etc., around here....and i knew i just knew i had a gut feeling that you are such a beautiful person, and that no GOD would ever let this happed to you, your grandpa, or your family...who knows maybe that one little thing you guys did for me and paul (the alternator in Wisconsin) was that karma coming back to you. I truly believe in karma, and i think this may have been quite an instance of it. congratulations, and i hope all is well in your family again, I know everyone is ecstatic.

Michelle, What's the latest on your Grandpa. Is everything ok with him? Are you guys going to limit his driving now? Just glad that everything ended up with him being ok!

I'm glad that he was found and is now safe. By the sounds of it he got lucky. Try not to be too ******* him though, it's tough when folks get older. He knows he's not 100% like he used to be and I'm sure that it's a tough thing to come to terms with.

He's still going through tests, but physically he is completely healthy. Drug tests came back negative for anything. Got all his credit card and checkbook figured out, since that was taken as well.

I still can't drive down to IL without remembering that whole weekend, and lucky for me I have been going down there every weekend since!
