This may be a long shot, but I thought I would try it. I know some of you are going on vacation this weekend and may drive in areas he would be in.

My grandpa left his home in Crivitz (by Green Bay) yesterday after the mail came (about 11 a.m.) to go to a campground around Portage. It should have taken him 3 hours or so and he still hasn't arrived there yet. He told his girlfriend (who lives a few hours north of Crivitz) that he was going to go to Oshkosh down 41 and then head west to get to Portage.

My parents, Aunt, and Uncle are at the Portage campground now and were there yesterday as they were all camping together. They called the sheriff and gave her all the information they could and there is a "missing motorist" or something similar out for him.

He would be driving an older motorhome (van front, cream/tran/brown in color, 18 feet or so long, and towing a small white trailer). The motorhome would have older jeep hubcaps on it (and one chevy one the last time I saw it). He's very nice and in good shape. His mind has been going lately and is easily on his way to having Alzheimer's (refusing to get it looked at though).

His name is LeRoy Parve. He had his cell phone disconnected awhile ago, so there is no way to currently contact him. His neighbors confirmed he had left after the mail came yesterday.

If you see him or his vehicle, please call me right away at 414-403-8838 and call the sheriff. We are all very, very worried about him.

Wow, hope he's OK. My grandfather wandered away once. We found him and he was OK but he was 20 miles from home and had no idea how he got there.

I'm sorry to hear about this, but we are leaving for Appleton/Green Bay at noon today for a wedding. Unfortunately the EAA is going on this weekend, which means a ton of campers are on the road! I will most definitely be on the lookout for him!

Thanks, it's an Astro Motorhome with a little white enclosed trailer. He might not have the trailer though, as he doesn't always take it, now that I think of it.

I'm on my way to head north and look. State Patrol was notified as I filed a report with them too.

Michelle, I am so sorry...my heart really goes out to you, as my grandmother and great grandmother both had Alzheimer's and i know how confused they can get, and how hard it is for them as well as for the family, but at the same time, it could all come back at any moment, and he could realize he is lost and get help. I wish i could drive up there right now and help you look for him. I am almost in tears, as i feel so much for you right now.... just be positive and stay strong, and i have faith that he will return or be found in good condition, and healthy. if i could, i'd be there for you in a heart beat. I hope you know that. please keep us updated on whatever you can, and just be positive. I know it will be fine. *hugs* once, again, i am so sorry and i will definitely be praying for you and your grandfather. It will be all okay in the end. you will find him and he will be fine. I am confident of that. *hugs again*

Just got home now. He still hasn't been found. My parents, aunt, and uncle have spoken to the local sheriff many times today. They had the gas station south of Madison (Oregon) where he last filled up check their video. My grandpa came in, signed for his credit card, had a short conversation, and headed south out of the gas station (doesn't necessarily mean he kept going south since I don't know how the gas station is setup).

Oh, his status changed as of noon today to a missing person "endangerment" or something like that. On my way home from Portage, they raised the alert in Dane County as well. I'm hoping someone spots him soon. I'm really surprised he hasn't used a phone to call any of us. He must be pretty frustrated and disorientated.

The police are going to keep checking where his credit card is used as well. He filled up his motorhome this morning, so it should last him awhile. We are hoping he stopped for dinner and used it again.

The state patrol was very nice when I spoke to them as well. I'll try to get the license plate number. I don't remember it off-hand and I know it's on some of the paperwork up in Portage at the campground. Also - a campground worker was really nice and let my mom and uncle take out her personal car to go look around the area.

That's what his motorhome looks like.

At least you guys have a way to track him with the credit card usage! I just pray that he is found before he wanders too far!

I'm sure he's doing just fine, and he'll turn up, safe, sound and wondering what all the hoopla was. Either way, I'm sending prayers ya'll's way.

Status changed to a kidnapping. A guy we don't know is with him and claiming to be my grandfather's son. He was last spotted in downtown Chicago trying to buy hundreds of dollars worth of cigarettes at a Walgreens and BP. Credit card was declined, but we were able to get it reinstated to help track them down but they haven't tried to use it since.

Ah, this is Michelle on Tom's computer, by the way.

I got a text a little while ago.

Apparently the motor home has been located, but her grandfather is still unaccounted for.

Andy told me the same thing Chris mentioned above. Greg and Tony took Michelle to an area to look for her grandpa and they found his motorhome. At that point, no sign of him yet.

Michelle, I know there are a lot of us praying for your grandpa and your entire family.

Hang in there!!!!!

Well, I just heard from the Chicago group and the police have located Michelle's grandfather.

He's apparently OK, they found him just walking around. They're all going to be meeting up shortly.

No word on the the guy who was with him. My guess is he screwed as soon as the credit card was declined.

I'm sure I speak for the entire forum when I say what a relief it is that he has been found unharmed.
