I am looking for some bigger injectors for my S/C SHO as the current 36lb's are not big enough for 400+WHP.

Ive started to do a little research and noticed a few threads where Doug@FPS mentions that he uses 50lb MSD injectors in some of the S/C SHOs he builds.

Anyone have any thoughts on using these injectors? I searched and it seems they arent ever really mentioned.

I'm running the 50lb-ers in Jason's car and it's got just enough to make 330hp to the tires (thru the ATX).

So when looking for injectors I want some high-Impedance, Bosch style injectors with removable tips, correct? As long as it fits this description will they work?

Anything else to look for when searching for an injector?

Yea, make sure they send you a flow chart with the injectors showing that they all match each other or pretty close. You will need modified rails.

at least all of mine come with flow charts:shrug:

Injectors and you just don't get along.... 50lb/hr injectors are good to over 650hp.

Jason, I was thinking 50lb injectors could be too small for me, or at least in the future.

520bhp x .55 BSFC / 6 injectors x .80 duty cycle
286 / 4.8 = 60lb fuel injectors

If 50lb injectors are indeed good for over 650hp then my search for larger injectors is over.

This sux. I have the last set of SHONUT's modified Accel 48#ers sitting on my shelf unused and now I am told I need 60#'s or larger to support my upcoming supercharger setup. I was always told that each cc of an injector can support 1hp so the 48# injector is right around 500cc so I would think they can hold around 500hp. But I guess these are thirsty engines.

Search google for "fuel injector calculator" You can determine which size of injectors you'll need.

50lb/hr / .55 x 6 = 545hp x .8 = 436hp @ 80% DC.

You'll most likely be fine. I've seen bigger power of smaller injectors and they weren't close to maxing out.... Even at lower altitude

Another option is to boost the fuel pressure with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Well Luigi, to be honest after losing my dear mother and accepting the challenge of being a full-time 24/7 caregiver for my 90 year old stage IV alzheimer's stricken father everything else just doesn't seem to matter anymore.

I once thought that with money you could buy anything, what a life lesson I was shown.

Perhaps one day I will return to the living..

I lost my dad not long ago. You're right, money isn't as important as we sometimes believe. Sorry to hear about your familiy. I hope you get a break every now and then so you can catch your breath.

Best wishes from me as well.:salute:

You can support a whole lot of wHP with 48# if you increase your fuel pressure. 59 lbs of base fuel pressure with 48# injectors will support well over 600 cHP. Now the problem really is the fuel lines (including the intank lines) and the 255 lph intank pump ... from my calculations (and experience) you start seeing the effects of fuel starvation with about 430 wHP with the OEM lines and 255 lph pump.
